      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Supporte Beam - help please

Hi,  I'm trying to create a horizontal support beam and can not, when I put the craft  nothing happens, bu when  I try beam vertical support functions normally.

 

Im using version 79

Form the Change log.

 

Condensed support beams into a single item and totally rewrote how they are placed in the world. Horizontal beams can only be placed between two vertical beams and can not be placed individually anymore. If any horizontal block breaks, the entire beam will break causing the ceiling to lose support. The changes to rock were made to encourage the use of these blocks more.

In case the changelog message isn't clear enough: "Condensed support beams into a single item" means that there is no longer different items for horizontal and vertical. The crafting recipe that worked for you just makes an "Oak Support Beam" - that item is both a horizontal and a vertical support beam all in one.

I would like to think that if youd left both recipes and made them make the same object there would be less confusion, but then again people would probably be reporting "horizontal support recipe makes vertical supports" 'bugs'

Nah. I just went through the wiki and deleted all references to the horizontal recipe.
