      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[TFC 0.79.27] Technofirma Mod Pack

339 posts in this topic

How stable is this pack? It looks like its a good mix of mods that will work with TFC.

It is stable, there is the occasional crash with sound filters/presence footsteps, but both are extremely conditional.

Looks good so far, one problem I've noticed is that hot springs render wrong.  You can see the problem here: http://i.imgur.com/WwoGqdf.jpg

Oh, what a coincidence, I just solved that a few hours ago.Open the Better Foliage menu with F8 when ingame, select the falling leaves catagory, and then change opauqe particles to false.

What's the mod that allows me to walk over blocks instead of jumping?  I feel like it negates the use of stairs, would like to disable it.

the mod is Iguana Tweaks, you can disable it in the config, as it also makes changes to the weight system.

Another issue I've found, if you start an ignot pile that pile is invisible until you relog.  If you add ignots to an existing pile it works fine.

I'm not trying to be a pain in the ass, just letting you know.  This modpack has really got me back into minecraft!  Love it!

You have the wrong version of forge installed, that is what is causing it, not the mod pack.

Thanks Kitty, the FTB launcher installed 10.13.1.25.  I believe the modpack installed TFC 79.12, but I advanced it to 79.13 to not mess up all my new stairs.  This one may be on me.

For future reference, I grab the latest build of TFC from the github, so there is always chance that those updates make it in.

If anyone received "fatally missing blocks and items" when connecting to the official server, that issue has now been resolved. Sorry for the inconvenience.

A friend and I have just released the first episode of a new coop Let's Play series featuring this mod pack. We've previously done a series on TerraFirmaCraft, and although that was ended a bit abruptly, we've been wanting to return to it for a while. We're looking forward to seeing how the endgame is now, with version 79 of TFC and Electrical Age added on top.

If you're interested, have a quick look at the trailer for the first episode:

Is there a simple way to update ftb to use forge 10.13.2.1236?  It seems to be stuck at 10.13.1.25.

No, you will have to wait for the next update or create a new instance with multiMC or the minecraft launcher and copy the mods/config folders over

Seems there is an issue with stacking ingots.  When I try to stack, only one ingot goes into a stack, which is invisible.  Also I can't access the stack and the only way to get the ingot back is to destroy the block underneath. Since there's no other way to store ingots, I'm kind of stuck.   Using forum search, I suspect this bug is a forge problem and currently works fine on the latest vanilla TFC and correct forge version.  Do you know of a workaround for your mod pack?  If not, oh well, guess we need to wait for that update from ftb.

This appears to be a SP only problem, and it appears to be fixed in the next update. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The next update will add Smart moving, usable recipes, TFC merchant addon, zombie awareness, and fixes. (Also, earthquakes [million to one chance of it happening, then a two in four chance of it actually damaging blocks])

Update 2.4.0:

Updated Forge Version: 10.13.1.1236

Added Zombie Awareness
Added TFC Merchant Addon
Added Smart Moving
Added Player API
Added Render Player API
Added Archimedes Ships (Air ships are disabled, they are to OP with no good way to make them balanced, when building a ship use the floater blocks as they will support it)
Removed Presence Footsteps (will be added back in when carpenter's blocks stops crashing it)
Updated Several Mods
Recipes now work for EA, and OC is closer to being working.
Lots of config tweaks and new features added!

Plans for future updates [in no particular order]:
Railcraft
[and since so many asked for it, but don't expect it anytime soon]...Gregtech
Industrialcraft 2
[Mod(s) to enhance/expand early game, gonna try and keep TFC more mid-game-ish, with the tech mods end game]
[any good doable/workable suggestion for new mod/tweak or community submission]

Big Thanks to the community on this update, scripting is a huge pain.  :)

Sweet! I can stack ingots now. :D

Question about the weather mod: seems like snow doesn't accumulate on the ground when it snows. (If weather mod is enabled) It only piles up in nearby chunks when they update during freezing temps. Is there some setting to fix that, or is that just the way it is?

Hmmm...It may be a config option I changed, or it is trying to place vanilla snow, which TFC doesn't have. I'll look into fixing this.

I would strongly suggest that the next update also updates forge to 1272, as it solved a significant lag issue with world generation.
