      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

House in the mountain

Not sure what i'm going for yet but may be dwarven-inspired. A BIG vault with ores deep under the mountain is planned, as well as a beacon on top of the mountain (the mountain is 240 blocks high).

Thanks. And those 'beacons' are not beacons but Jack O' Lanterns (i.e. pumpkins), just retextured with the Summerfields texture pack to look less derpy.

Cheers mate :) I play on MS Windows 7. Although i can dual boot into Linux, graphics performance is better in Windows.

Can i adjust the color of the light in the shader mod ?

 

Right now i have the ugly orange glow that he has in his first 3 images, but i want the white light from his latest pics

The "the ugly orange glow" is caused by torches/jack o lanterns. I personally don't do shaders, so I don't have any idea how to change that. Look for config options that deal with torches.

 

IF you are using Sonic Ether's shaders, here are some instructions on how to change the torch light colour:

Also just incase you need to know, just open it in like 7zip or winrar and just edit it with notepad and save it and it will save the changed one in the zip, so its pretty quick and easy (when you know what you want ot change).//Torchlight colorfloat torchWhiteBalance = 0.09f;colorTorchlight = vec3(1.00f, 0.18f, 0.00f);colorTorchlight = mix(colorTorchlight, vec3(1.0f), vec3(torchWhiteBalance));thats what I have that i think gives a good mix between white and yellowanything past about .12 for white balance is pretty much just white

Thanks for the comments, guys. By the way, no shaders were used in the last batch of screenshots. That's normal MC lighting with moody settings. I got tired of only 20 fps (yeah no a fast computer here) with the almost basic of shaders.

I installed the shaders because i wanted to make some screenies but... damn, everything looks so different and suddenly some things look worse because they are in the shade or stuff like that!

I'd like to add to the above,

 

i returned to playing without shaders because the day passes so fast that the constant change in light direction is very confusing. I walk out of the house, light shines in my face, i do stuff in the garden and go back in and suddenly the spot is all dark and the other side is lit up...

Very nice, beautiful landscape, your bedroom certainly looks safe and secure.  I wish there was a mountain near my base so I could build a food storage atop it soooooo much more aesthetically pleasing verses a plank tower and a box room.
