      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Just tried silver in 79.10, i'm able to melt it into molds and take the ingots out.

So not quite sure what you are trying to do, if you can take a ingot out of a mold it solidified so to get it back in a mold you'll need to reheat/melt it, or am i missing something?

in previous builds you were able to craft ingot back into mold

What for would you need to do that?

This makes no sense at all. Why would you put an ingot back into a mold? The mold has already served its purpose, to shape the liquid ingot. To put it back into a mold would be totally retarded. I see no reason for it in any way. It was probably a bug in the first place and was fixed. Would you care to explain why you want to put an ingot back into a mold?

you can do this by putting the ingot in the forge, and a mold on the side and then let it overheat and liquify.

It was something possible in the past. There is sound logic to put solid metal in the mold and then melt it. Just because the mechanic has changed is no reason to be rude.

Opinions about it's usefulness aside, a bug is a bug.

Ingot + mold = Unshaped ingot mold

works with all but silver.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be rude. I see your point.

The only reason i can see for this is that you could put the mold in a chest. If you can do this with other metals i would see that as the bug, even if it does make sense.

maybe they were trying to put it in the crucible after they had made the ingot? It was my understanding that you needed to put the ingot back into the mold, heat the ingot to liquid state and then pour into the crucible. Unless this mechanic has changed recently (i'll reread the change log to check) but if this process works for the other ingots it should work for silver as well. So i would say it is a bug as the poster said.

You can put ingots directly into the crucible, no need for the mold. It would also seem to me that the ability to put other ingots back into molds is not so much a bug as a remnant of an old mechanic. There is no need or value to putting ingots back into molds.  This topic really should just be closed.

I agree with Vlad, useful or not, if the silver is the only ingot you can not put back in the mold, that is a problem. (the problem is that the recipe is missing, not that you can not put it back)

If the answer is that there is no use to put the ingot back in the mold, then all the recipe do to so should be removed.

Ignoring inconsistency is not a valid option for me.

Silver, all the high carbons, and unknown metal were all missing. Fixed for the next version.
