      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Config file sync between server and client?

6 posts in this topic

So there are some really nice mods out there that have their own config files. And I have noticed most require some tweaking to make them work properly on with TFC. I am aware of mods like Crafting Manager and MineTweaker to modify recipes.

My question is if there is a mod (or some other way) to sync the clients config files with setting on the server to avoid conflict?

In the TFC commit log I have noticed there was code added to do this exact thing with TFC, so I am assuming that this would have to be done with the individual mods... but hoping I'm wrong ;)

This is default behavior in Minecraft 1.7, and any mod author that actually has a clue of what they are doing with configs will already have this implemented.

Use one of the 3rd party launchers to create a pack. You can then control the config files that are installed when playing.

We don't talk about that launcher here.

@AHrubik: if every client would need to use the 3rd party launcher in order for that to work, I am not interested. If this would still work for people that are using the Official Minecraft Launcher supplied by Mojang, then I would be willing to look into it. You would need to PM me the info, as I know discussion of that launcher is not allowed.

(hopefully I am not stepping out-of-bounds Kitty?)

You're good. The only place that launcher is mentioned in public places is the FAQ page. You are welcome to use the private message system to discuss it though. :)
