      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Chisel: mode slab

11 posts in this topic

Bonjour,

I propose a change in the "Chisel : Slab mode" tool.
Allow removing the slices.

So as to allow the use on BlockStair and on BlockDetailed.

I am not perfectly sure wheather i understand you right or missed some point. But doesnt your new feature simply do what 4 klicks on current slab mode do? i am not sure if it is a good idea to introduce a mode that does what could be done by 4 simple and fast klicks.

I add a gif to illustrate.

ah - now i got the point.. so simply remove all the little blocks in the same layer as the one you would if it was on detailed.

hm... when would you need such a feature? i do use the chisle rather frequently but compared to the recent cange with the "stair" mode which is awesome (even tough i havent had time yet to try it out), i cant see any situation where i could have used this mode for the chislework i did.

Not sure I see any particular reason to add this. Sure, people make a lot of stairs and the old method clearly had some faults, but I don't see what this is useful for. In fact, it looks pretty annoying.

The idea is to make the tool more universal.Removing impossibilities.Today we can not use the slab tool on a staircase, or a detailed block. With this proposal we can. After your imagination do the rest.

All this is possible with the current detail mode. It is just more time consuming to do. As such I don't see a rewrite of that code being worthwhile.

I second this. Although I usually don't use the chisel POINT BLANK because of this. heheh.

Less clicking, less failure, and less wear.Use chisel tool, more fluid and more natural. With regard to the rewrite of the code ... my pleasure :D

(Users without avatar is scary I think.)

I agree that you should be able to use the slab tool on a detailed block. I disagree with your version of it. I think that removing a slice from the middle would be super annoying and would cause more grief than it solves.
