      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Alcohol requires more than 4.0 oz of food to create

6 posts in this topic

Version 7.9

SMP

Mods: Map Writer, FastCraft, MumbleLink, Extended PASupport for Mumble

According to both the wiki and the changelog, alcohol requires 4.0 oz of food to create. However, in game it seems that no less than 160 oz will work. Anything less will not display what output is being made, and it seems that it will not work after the 72 in-game hours. Any help would be much appreciated.

7.9 is not a valid version number. What version are you actually using? If you are using any version prior to 79.11, then you can only make alcohol using a full barrel, but even then it takes at a minimum 40 ounces of food.

Is your barrel full of fresh water? What kind of alcohol are you trying to make? What food item are you trying to seal in the barrel? Does the Output message say anything when you seal the barrel? Are you running a version prior to 79.14, and have broken and replaced the barrel after sealing it?

Edit: Alcohol requires 4 ounces per water bucket to make alcohol. If your barrel is completely full of water, that is 10 buckets, and will require 40 ounces to turn into alcohol.

Dont mean to necro this thread.. but I am having trouble making alcohol.  I have 1 barley grain, which states it is 14 oz.

I put 3 (and 4 for testing) buckets of freshwater into a Large Vessel, then add the grain, and seal it.. but it still says "Output: N/A". Can someone please advise me on what I am doing wrong?

You can only make alcohol in a barrel, you can't make it in large vessels. Alcohol is also made with grain flour, not just the refined grain.

You need flour, not grain. Put it in a quern first.
