      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[B2 Pre 25-28] Everything you could ask for, and a pillar of salt.

You should initially spawn at the edge of a jungle biome. To the north is a lake bordered by desert hills, and to your east is a river, separating the jungle from the desert. Cross that river and follow the opposite bank to the south (the jungle should be on your right, and the desert on your left). It will quickly change to grasslands, then hills. You should gather some flint as you pass through the grasslands, as flint is the one thing you'll be lacking where you're going.

Once you've got the flint you need, head back to the river and follow it as it turns to the west, then dries up. When you reach the end of the river (which isn't that far at all, you should reach it before noon of the first day) there will be an almost vertical wall of pinkish dirt and light colored stone to your left. The site you want to reach is at the top of this wall, but it's impossible to scale from this side.

Continue walking west. You'll pass through a very small strip of jungle (only about 1 chunk wide), then everything will open up.

To your north is dense jungle filled with huge Kapok trees, perfect for making mass amounts of early charcoal (at least until you start a tree farm).

To your west is a granite rock desert. Just over the large hill you can see from this position is a natural depression/quarry containing tin and copper (at least in my save). To reach the tin you'll have to dig a bit, but the copper was visible from the get go in one wall of the natural quarry.

Within sight to the south-west is a large forest containing maple, white pine, and (rarely) hickory. Even if you don't stumble on the hickory, maple easily burns hot enough to handle your initial campfire smelting.

The spire directly to your south is rock salt, and (again, at least on my original p25 save) had several easily accessible deposits of magnetite. The top of the spire nearly scrapes the cloud layer, and makes a great spot for early smelting due to the elevation (at least, assuming I'm not wildly mistaken about how elevation effects fire temperature.)

At the base of the spire is a small stretch of river (making an early farm easy to set up) and a good size clay deposit.

With this location in B2 pre 25, I went from tin to copper to bronze to iron to steel all in the course of about six-seven hours, and never had to venture more than a handful of chunks in any direction to get what I needed (well, except for squid ink... that took some exploring).

EDIT: I've thrown together an album of screenshots showing the route from the original spawnpoint to the spire and some of the features in the area.

Doh! You are correct. I looked at the readme, but somehow I skimmed right over that. Screenshots forthcoming shortly.

Yeah, should be magnetite in the rock salt mountainous regions too (though the exact locations seem to have changed between when I originally generated the world and now.... or maybe with each world generation? Not sure.)
