      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved] Brine bucket

10 posts in this topic

The bucket won't pick up any of the brine I have in barrels. Same goes for cider, limewater and tannin. I haven't had this problem before it just started recently. when I right click the bucket moves but nothing happens. I even tried going to the barrel display menu to place the bucket in the slot to extract the contents, still nothing. I can still pick up milk and water from the barrels though.  I've tried starting a new game but I keep running into the same problem. Any suggestions would be great

Buckets only exist for water, milk, vinegar, and lava.

There is no such thing as a brine, limewater or tannin bucket. They do not exist in 79, and they never have existed in 79.

If you want to move brine or limewater, seal the barrel/large vessel, pick it up, and use it to right click on the container that you want to transfer the liquid to, just like it's a really big bucket.

If you want to get alcohol out of a barrel, you'll need a glass bottle.

If you don't mind me asking, why were you trying to put brine/limewater/tannin/alcohol in a bucket? The reason that they don't exist is that there is no real reason for them to, as they would be essentially useless.

It was how expected to move all liquids from one barrel to another, as it's how I used to fill barrels, until I found you can dunk an entire barrel in water to fill it! I only recently found that you can seal a barrel, pick it up and fill other barrels with it....

On the question of buckets of cider being useless... but then how do I split up a barrel of cider into two smaller barrels, each containing only half? I only have enough fruit to turn half my cider into vinegar. Can't I split the amount between two barrels?

the only way I can think of is to use a large (ceramic) vessel as an intermediate - these hold exactly half the amount a barrel does :)

Or you could just use bottles to transfer the liquid.

Thanks! So if I understand you correctly -- I can use the vanilla recipe to make a glass bottle, right-click on the barrel with the bottle to fill the bottle with some vinegar, and then right-click with the bottle on the empty barrel to empty it? (or do the same with a large ceramic vessel?)

Or is another technique required?

That's exactly correct. If you go the large ceramic vessel method, you'll have to carry it on your back to move it over to the empty barrel.
