      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

How are you guys dealing with caves?

For me, as a builder, the way cave-ins work is actually a blessing.

I use it to get cobble and therefor get a higher yield when mining for rocks, also exposing ore deposits from below is much easier.

I have stopped using supports altogether I must admit.

Deliberate cavins can be a fun and exciting way to mine B)

Well, I just found my first cave/underground ravine. It was full of skeletons and things. I managed to make them all start shooting at each other, placed a few light sources, went through them without them noticing me, mined a garnierite deposit I found, and ran back. They were still shooting at each other. I will check back soon, now that a few game days have passed. Wonder if they are still shooting.

I don't find caves anymore.  I found huge pits or ravines.  Find a way to get down into them, search about, use the pick, mining really isn't that dangerous as it use to be unless you REALLY want to go for that massive vein of ore.  To be honest, at the start of the game they just annoy me - I have to find ways around them.
