      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Skin Tanning (Not Being Racist)

7 posts in this topic

In the new Body temp update i think there should be a way to have a natural deflectant. Skin tanning. What it would look like on a skin it can be custom have your skin change color on the ect. Steve skin. It would be on a bar also so that non working skin players could see it. depending on how day your skin is it would minus the effect of sun heat by a little bit and can only be achieved in summer and mid or late spring in colder north climates, and anytime near the equator. Id say about 250 blocks away. Encouraging players to head to the equator. But being in the sun too long can have some negative effects like sun burns, dehydration, ect.

Well I hope you like my suggestion for the body temp update

Not everyone uses the default Steve skin, though. My skin is orcish, for example. Also, without separate skin/clothing in the skin layers (technically possible with 1.8, but TFC beta is not getting those features) there isn't an easy to determine what's skin and what's clothes.

I'm also not too sure there's a way to modify the skin on the fly, is there?

Well there is the skin studio app for the phone but it costs like .99 or 1.99 and for the skin thing it you could enter your skin in a folder and tell what parts of the skin to get darker or we could scrap the whole skin thing all together

Well, I for one most certainly wouldn't spend money on such an app in order to use a feature of this mod, particularly as I never see more than my character's arm and really don't care enough how it looks to even change it from the default.

I dont think the graphical part is feasible. For temperature acclimatation?, it could be useful to suffer less from heat after living in the desert for months.

I'd still wait to see how the body temp will work first.
