      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved] dirt falling into forge - destroyed forge - destroyed items

8 posts in this topic

I was working quite a bit with the forge today with making about 30 molds, double bronze sheets for bronze platebody and whatnot, but once I accidently placed a dirt block next to my forge instead of clicking on the forge the dirt block sank into the forge by the affect of gravity as if the forge wasn't a solid block. This completely destroyed the forge and everything in it, I destroyed the dirt block do find nothing left. The dirt block had to move one over and one down (which is normal with gravity).

This occurs with the current suggested forge version and newest tfc build.

Version #:79.15

SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer):both

Suggested Name:Dirt block destroying forge

Suggested Category: Annoying

Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes

*If you answered no to the above question, delete your config files and try to reproduce the bug. This question is here because many bugs are caused by mistakes in config files. All bug reports should have an answer of "Yes" to this question.

Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: No

If yes, which mods?

If you have Optifine or Cauldron installed, can you still reproduce the bug after uninstalling them?

*Both Optifine and Cauldron edit the base classes of forge that TFC uses. Because of this, we cannot officially support any issues that happen only when these mods are installed.

This breaks Rule #4. Please edit to use the template provided.

The forge breaking is likely like chests breaking, which is intended. Not dropping items would be a bug, but I haven't confirmed it yet.

What version of forge are you using.

release 1.7.10-Forge 10.13.2.1272.

I never knew dirt falling on a chest breaks it, that seems ridiculous.

Would you happen to be playing on a server that runs cauldron? In vanilla TFC, when a block of dirt drops on a chest, it breaks the chest and spews all the items on the ground. The same thing happens with a forge.

If the server is running cauldron, the block still breaks and the items still spew on the ground, but they are invisible and you won't be able to pick them back up unless you completely shut down the game and restart it before they have time to despawn.

No it's vanilla. I've tested multiple times in multiples situations and it always ends up with my items disappearing. If I destroy the forge with any other way besides a gravity affected item, I get my items back.

Ok I can verify the destruction of items in forge in this scenario. Does not matter if forge is lit or unlit.
