      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Snow Golem

5 posts in this topic

Snow golems still can be easily built. Using a shovel you can get infinite snow blocks, and they don't melt. A cheap, non-gravity, solid block to exploit.

I like the nice white colour the block has and I can build a whole castle out of one encaged snowman, but I think this is a exploit that should be taken into account.

I would be sad to see the snow block removed.

What do you suggest? Personally, I have no problem removing this exploit. Perhaps the snow golem would have to move to a new block in order to create a new layer of snow. Then farming his snow would be more arduous than simply farming it in the wild. (Because then we'd have to wait for him to walk around. Be free snow golem; be free!!)

The golems already have to move to produce snow layers. Another solution would be to make them have physics a la cobble.

Snow golems don't need to move to create snow layers. Lock it up, apply shovel to the block where it is standing, infinite snowballs.

I'd suggest different things:

1- Make snow block melt on non-freezing temperatures

2- Make snow block "soft" like thatch so it can't be used for bridging, building or preventing cave-ins

3- Make snow block gravity-affected like cobble.

Any of these or maybe all of them could render snow block unexploitable.
