      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved] Blast Furnace: Temperature of Crucible

6 posts in this topic

TFC Version #: 0.79.16 Forge Version #: 10.13.2.1291SSP/SMP (SinglePlayer/MultiPlayer):  SSP Description: Temperature of crucible of a blast furnace drops very fast Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed? (Yes/No):  YesIf yes, which mods?

FastCraft, Reis Minimap (1.7.10) I finally made it to my first blast furnace ever and quickly proceeded to black steel. While batch-working a lot of iron ores I recognized the temperature of the crucible catching the liquid iron drops quite fast. This is propably working as intended and depends on the temperature of the blast furnace block and the liquid iron itself pourring into the crucible. I often end up with some hundred solid iron in the crucible which immediately re-liquifies when new iron pours in.

I was woundering if it is possible to add a forge and a bellows under the crucible of the blast furnace. As this is my first working blast furnace and it took me 4 ingame years to build it, I was not willing to just test it. In addition I could not find any information on this matter in the wiki or the forum. Sorry if I missed it or if this question is stupid. Thanks a lot for any advise.

Hi.

i am not sure about adding a forge to thr blastfurnace. What i usually do is break the crucible with a pickaxe and move the crucible to my forge to continue working there.

good luck

It is possible to put a forge directly under the crucible under the blast furnace, but it's a bit complicated to do since you need to have the chimney set up properly. Breaking and moving the crucible to a nearby forge is a much easier solution.

I always place a forge under the crucible on the Blast Furnace.

Because of the metal sheets on the sides, you have to really try to block the forge chimney. What I mean is that is impossible to place a block on the sides of the Blast furnace because the metal sheets use the block space, but the forge sees them as air. So the forge always work, unless you go to the top of the blast furnace and block all the sides.
