      Server Move   09/13/18

I (Dries007) have recently taken over as main developer and server admin. This involved moving servers to reduce cost. It's likely there will be some more downtime in the future but most  things should be sorted by now. This forum is in dire need of replacement as the software is quite old and can't be easily updated. If you wish to discuss or stay updated, join our discord: https://invite.gg/terrafirmacraft. The forum will remain available to read, but will be locked in the future, when a new system is setup. The forum and wiki are now ad free. If you'd like to contribute to keeping it that way, you can do so via paypal or patreon.

StoneAgeCraft

6 posts in this topic

I am trying to revive my old project of extending the stone age.

I am using progression and minetweaker.

The idea is for the players to be able to make a settlement with a farm ( Agriculture ) and Animal Husbandry.

The way I set progression is to unlock metal use after the player eats a sandwich and cheese.

So only with stone tools they are able to make lumber using a stone axe, but not planks.

I changed the recipe for the quern and handstone, so they can make it using rocks and cobble.

My problem comes when trying to make cheese, I tested and I was able to make cheese using a large vessel, but they need vinegar, and I need ideas or solutions on how to make vinegar using a Large Vessel, or change the recipe for cheese.

All ideas and suggestions are welcome.

BTW I have a test server where all this changes can be seen.

Make ricotta, milk and lemon,

rennet, is maked from stomach of cowns, maybe you use the leather water sac, blade from sheeps.

IDK how to make the script to change barrel/largevessel process, to replace the vinegar for the rennet.

recipes.addShapeless(<terrafirmacraft:item.Vinegar>, [<terrafirmacraft:item.Lemon>.withTag({foodWeight: 100.0 as float, foodDecay: -24.0 as float, decayTimer: 1}), <terrafirmacraft:item.Wooden Bucket Empty>]);

I changed the requirements, instead of cheese I just require the player to obtain a bucket of milk. I included some other requirements, I think it will work.

If they are able to make lumber, wouldn't they just be able to make a wooden barrel and do it the "vanilla" way without any special changes?

So only with stone tools they are able to make lumber using a stone axe, but not planks.

So they can't make crafting grid without planks. I assume there is a different recipe for bucket that doesn't require a 3x3.

I changed the recipe for the crafting grid. All it requires now is 4 sticks, but the barrels are locked and cannot be crafted until the player crafts a copper saw.

I also changed the recipe for lumber, so putting a log in the crafting grid with a stone axe yields 4 lumber, but the planks are also locked and they cannot make until the copper axe.

So even though they can make buckets, they can't make barrels or planks.

I am loving the capabilities of this mod. I can finally tweak and change the tech tree.

I completely agree with the idea of having items that cannot be obtained until the player reaches a certain technological level.

I just always though that the crafting table should be available immediately, because of the way we handle recipes in minecraft, the initial crafting is too limited, specially when we deal with mods that add so many items and tools as tfc.
