      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

To have Bass Spawn in Swamp biomes.

Looking for a good seed and noticed that bass was only spawning in Lake biomes.

After confirming with Kitty that indeed they only spawn in Lakes.

I would like to suggest that they would be allowed to spawn in Swamps.

 on some seeds Lakes can be very rare, so is possible to create a world where it would be very hard to ever see bass.

Right now we have squids on salt water, so I think we should have bass on all fresh water.

I have no idea how hard it would be to code that, I just think it would be a good adition to the mod.

Before anyone points out, I do belive the best would be to have different fish spawning in different places.

Like for example catfish in the swamps.

I always understood that once you have a mob coded it would be just a question of giving it another name, texture and biome spawn, since the behavior would be the same.

But again I am no coder, so no idea how hard it is to actually do all that.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that the main reason why Dunk didn't have bass be able to spawn in all fresh water (or at least fresh water of a certain depth) is that they aren't completely optimized. Their pathfinding is a bit wonky, and I know of at least a few players who complain that their game starts lagging whenever they get near lake biomes because of it. The original plan was indeed to have multiple different fish types that spawn in different biomes, but Dunk never got around to it. That code is a bit of a mess, so I'd really rather not tinker around with it to add even more fish.

I totally understand not wanting to work on someone else code.

I feel the same whenever I have take over a Domain Controller server that someone else created.

Oh, so THAT was the unbearable lag I experienced yesterday after stumbling upon Bass lake... I was worried, but then again no lakeside cabin for me :(
