      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved] Sapling Timer Multiplier

 This is a global multiplier for the number of days required before a sapling can grow into a tree. Decrease for faster sapling growth. [range: 0.01 ~ 100.0, default: 1.0]

    S:saplingTimerMultiplier=1.0

 

I understand that this option is in reference to planted saplings, like any sapling that the player plants.

Question: Does this affects spontaneous sapling spawning in the world? Like the ones responsible for forest regeneration?

If we decrease this will we see the trees that just appear inside towns growing faster or slower?

The multiplier affects the timer that starts a moment a sapling is placed in the world, regardless of if it is player placed, or naturally generated. It has absolutely nothing to do with the rate that the saplings appear, just the rate at which existing saplings turn into trees.

 

For example, if a sapling usually takes 10 days to turn into a tree, setting the multiplier to 0.5 means that the same sapling will only take 5 days to turn into a tree.
