      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Larger Forges

3 posts in this topic

I've looked as far as 3 pages into this section and haven't seen what I was looking for yet... didn't see anything else relevant (surprisingly) with a search either...

My thought is for the ability to have larger forges. My personal reason for this suggestion is aesthetic; having a large forge just feels and looks more cool -- think of the Skyforge in Skyrim. I don't feel like it'd need to be much better in any major way, perhaps having more places to heat things or for fuel. Or just being easier to click since it is larger.

The thing about it is, that larger forges actually eat more fuel up and don't heat the metal as well. That's why most actual forges you see are the way they are, so that the center of heat is concentrated so you can get a high, constant heat. The forges you see in games like Skyrim are purely artistic in nature, and in real life would consume about 4-5 times more coal/charcoal and probably only heat half as well, since the heat is spread out over such a large area.

You can already make a multi-forge, alternating stone and forge. A double forge is a common design (I use it) with a central chimney; I've seen screenshots of triple forges...
