      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Gorilla

Phineas originally made this model using the Techne program. I have since then redid the model in MCMC so that it is easier to modify if needed to in future. Phineas made a great gorilla texture which is below.

Still feel like it could use more differentiation.  Lighter 'silver' hindquarters.  Maybe some highlights on the arms.  It's just very uniform right now, and then when it's in a dark shadowy forest, I think it's basically going to look like a moving shadow.   I can give that a shot if you don't mind Alpha.

If you have an idea for an improved texture for the gorilla then go ahead.

I did some quick addition of lighter grays for a silverback look, and also to lighten the face so the features are more visible.  The screen caps show the dark texture on left, silverback on right.  I think it helps.  I also put the MCMC model boxes in proper parent-child trees.

Do you think that this looks more like an adult gorilla?
This is probably the best way to make the suggestion that I wanted to make to it:

Not so sure about the increased height of the 'dome', but I do like what you did with the face.  Could we see a version with a 2-high dome?

The texture had to be slightly modified to accommodate the new sizes.  All I did at this point was sink the cap into the head a little so that it didn't have to really be modified.  In this case, I just dropped the position by 1 on the Y axis.  The reason it was originally a little taller (or really, the face was just shortened by 1) was to emulate the peak that the adult males get from the muscle attached to the sagittal crest (or whatever causes it).

I think you had it right the first time Krono, with the taller dome.  Maybe post that model, and we can call this final, if nobody else has a comment.
