      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Items wont lay down on ground

9 posts in this topic

Hello, I recently started playing TFC again, and followed the wiki install guide. Everything worked great!! :)  however after adding a few addons and mods. the Items stopped laying down on the ground. Like the rocks after you right click them. they no longer flip and properly submit to gravity. They just do their usual minecraft float.

Now here's the kicker. I did some troubleshooting, played with graphic settings, checked config files, and tried removing recent mods. no change. alright. fine. So I did a fresh install. used the same .jar of TFC(0.79.29.922) and loaded up a new profile in a new folder with the same Forge(10.13.4.1558). Promptly loaded up the game and started a new world... AND... they still float...

Is there something I'm missing? Any thoughts from the more experienced crowd? Ill be trying again with freshly downloaded files soon. just wanted to pick some brains in the event that doesn't solve it.

[Edit] I completely deleted Minecraft and started from scratch. I got the same result. All items float when in the world.

I have a feeling that items laying on the ground is from a mod - a name something like "real/better physics"?

We still need some kind of log to be able to help.

Chunkhunter is right.  Floating items is TFC default.  It's a mod that makes them lay down.  First figure out the mod and make sure you have it.

The game never crashed on me, I cannot produce a log to my knowledge.

I did find that mod and installed it! The items do lay down, however not all the way on the ground like before. But its close enough. I'm so very sure that they lay flat from a fresh install. I remember that being one of the awesome things about TFC. Either way, since I cant seem to replicate my memory, I will be satisfied withe the extra mod :)

Thanks for the interest and help with my issue.

I've never had things lay flat.  Never installed that physics mod.

I'm pretty sure it's NOT standard TFC behaviour.

If you are talking about just rocks, sticks,  and ores that generate in the world aren't laying flat, that's because you have fast graphics turned on.

The op said after you click on them. I don't think that's what he meant, albeit that fast graphics causes them to never lie flat

im pretty sure that got fixed when you went to 1.7 so that fast graphics dont cause them to stand up (i took note of it becasue my brother kept playing with 20 render on servers and turned it on as he thought it was to laggy and so i rejoiced)
