      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Disappearing Ingot Pile

Do you happen to have solid blocks above the ingot pile? I know ingots, when retrieved from the pile, can appear inside the block above, which can cause it to be pushed all the way up to the surface of whatever you are under.
  2. [Solved] Pit Kiln doesn't work

You just have to right click with the straw over the placed pottery, beginning to place it down kind of like a block. Keep right clicking until it fills up the block (It won't go past 15), then place the log pile on top of that and light it.
  3. Regarding Powder Kegs:

Sulfur isn't found in the rock... kind of. You find it at the edges of lava pools in caves and stuff, just lying on the ground.
  4. How to make metal sheets in 77

And to clarify, you can work the metal on a higher tier anvil, so you can work copper on bronze and such, but not a metal on any anvil lower than its own tier.
  5. Questions By Vagabond

Seeing as this thread already has some questions I'm going to hijack it and post one of my own... Do sluices scan above themselves for ore? I'm using them underground to search a larger area than I could with the propick (Thank god for oceans on top).
  6. Name Me!

*Walks in to thread* *Sees rampant derail* I'm too tired for this... *Walks out and goes to sleep*
  7. TFC Build 76!!!

Maybe rather than making a mixer that could produce cement at a better ratio, possibly a way to smash rocks in to sand using something like a hammer (On the non flux stones, possibly restrict it to igneous intrusive+). Or a form of the quern using high end metals that could also grind rocks in to sand.
  8. Planetside 2 anyone?

Damn I should come in, too bad my one guy on SolTech is NC... I love my bolt driver with 12x magnification. Guess I could make a Vanu character at some point to join. Busy with school right now though.
  9. Anvil troubles

Gotta forge the unshaped bismuth without a plan first to get the ingot, THEN you can smith it with the plan to get the head.
  10. Improved Stone Knapping Interface

Diorite would be another good rock, hard enough to shape granite. Much of this would probably need a recode of rock types though.
  11. Skating on Thin Ice...

Well if you want to cross thin ice you can get on your stomach and crawl across... Less pressure and all that. Course if we go there we could possibly be stepping on the toes of smart moving.
  12. Spelunking.

The only issue is really resource requirement versus the gameplay value. Unless TFCII manages to recode detailed blocks and make them much easier on memory this won't really be a thing. Because for it to really matter you would need quite a few branching throughout the caves, which would probably make all of your RAM explode, and otherwise if they were much less common they wouldn't be that noticeable.
  13. Alloys: early/middle bronze, mithril, steel

Very well done! Proving upwards flowing fluids do work is a nice step in minecraft modding. Now what would happen if your chimney got sealed?
  14. Spelunking.

I'm kinda confused by this thread... from the picture the cave systems in TFC are somewhat like the "IRL" picture, with lots of looping and winding around. The systems are also absolutely MASSIVE, going from surface to bedrock, and probably all interconnected in some way on my own world. You just almost never find them on the dirt layer, you have to dig through the stone first if you want to get to one quickly. There are only two cave entrances from the surface within 1 km of my home. Also, if you don't have metal armor... cave diving will likely get you killed, friggin' skeletons.
  15. Using Shears to Shape Hedges/Leaves

I would like to have shears at lower metal tiers, especially if this is added, where higher tier metals may have their own shears for sheep. Oh and I think the display of 4 ingots is a bug, if you looked up the page a bit some of the recipes seem overlaid on one another, with the planks and plank blocks on the same spot. The 4 ingot square was likely a result of the two shear recipes being stacked on each other.
