No ore in 42 or 43.

I have searched around on Google and not found anything relevant. With build 42 and 43 ore of any kind is not generating in the worlds. This problem has been repeated on 3 different computers with both single player and multiplayer being affected. No other mods are used. I have used creative and loads of TNT to check. Using creative I can tell that the ore blocks themselves are IN the game, just not in the world. Any help would be appreciated.

most of the ore from the top layers aren't there anymore, but look down at level 45ish, you'll run into huge amounts

I've run into this problem as well. Just seems as though getting to y~45 from ~140 is a bit too tedious with cave-ins and having to hand work every stone tool now

Ok. Just did another test. On a 9 meg size world all the way to the bottom level, I found 1 vein of ore. Just spent the last two hours looking. It's rare to the point of being unplayable and probably needs to be adjusted or at least provide an option in the config file to adjust yourself.

Ended up finding some starter ore! Woot for Bismuthnite found @ y~84, what i can see from here is about 70 blocks of it - the propick is still kinda tough to use, but the ore is definitely here

Yeah i had a hard time finding starter ores specially on higher ground i found my first sphalerite after 2h + of play but it just spawns on lower grounds, specially on deserts i've found tin many times on various worlds you can try that and see how it goes

Having big difficulties finding ore too, discovered huge cave systems, propicked the walls and no ore to be found. I really hate that ore generation is linked again to depth like in vanilla minecraft, turning mountains into heaps of useless rock and dirt. *sigh*

and here I was thinking I messed my world up by generating it without the Resource file, well it is true to life at least! It is not like you are going to trip over a gold mine, that sort of thing takes... years...

So far all i have found is a handful of sulfur after about 6 hours of looking, that sounds about right. (What is sulfur for anyways?)

Oh, and the truth to look for initial ores very difficult(I Russian and Google the translator am very bad)
