      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

There are no other members of his family alive, except his younger sister Ilduria, which resides far away in Igalit and he can't get in touch with her anymore. Background: I grew up on my parents farm. We had a lot of land and lived a good live, until the war came. I was 24 at that time but I still remember it if it had been yesterday. The enemy came from the west, we knew we wouldn't make it if we stayed. So we packed everything we could, took some cattle with us and traveled east, trying to escape the certain death that came upon us. One week passed without any bigger incidents, when they attacked us. I don't know how they were able to reach us so fast. We were just a lot of farmers and civilians, what should we have done? We were ambushed in a dark scary forest, it seemed like there was no way out. I didnt get a lot of clear thoughts at that moment so I grabbed my sister, who was just 15 years old then, and ran deep into the forest. I don't know how we managed to escape but we were not the only ones that did it, we found a few others I've seen in the caravan. We hid ourselfs for about a week in the forest before we dared to get out of it. We managed to get to Kaleia, a heavily fortified town on the coast. A lot of refugees had already found shelter there and we joined them. It was a hard time till the war ended 3 years later, we barely managed to survive it at all. I tried to find my parents again but I had no luck, I came to the conclusion that they died at the ambush. When the war was over, we went back to Igalit, a coastal city and tried to start a new life. My sister fell in love with Kreg and married him when she was 20. I never found my big love, but i managed to start a new farm and was getting a better life again, till this year. The summer was as dry as nothing i have ever witnessed, it felt like my farm was built in a desert. My whole harvest died from the heat and aridity and the earth got carried away by the hot winds, leaving me behind with a usless field. That was the moment I decided to start again, far far away from where I was before. So I got on this ship and headed out to the new world, where I hope to find a better life. But when I look at that storm ahead, I am not sure if I'm gonna make it this time, so I pray to the great gods to give me another chance in my life, a last chance... ----------------------------------------------o0o----------------------------------------------

    that explains why grass dropped me red apple tree saplings which i could plant on tilled soil.... good to hear the bugs are out.

    Well i was just testing a bit around with the crops. After planting like about every crop and watching them for like 4 ingame days, i saw that none of them grew even one stage. So i started the debug mode and skipped through the days and months to see, that they grow in a realistic speed. Well That is nice and all... but if i have to wait like 6 month for my first harvest (not to mention they die in winter), i will starve. And regarding SMP i cannot just run around and slughter animals to get me through to the first harvest. It's just not possible to do. What i want to say: It's nice if they grow realistic, but its just too hard to get to the first harvest of crops/Trees or till the animal Farm is running. if there is a server and it runs on hard, you're just not gonna make it. I don't know how to adjust that, but i think just for the ability to play we will need a bit more unrealistic growth rates. A little side info: The crops were planted in a planes biome with pretty average temperatures on soil near water. well the discussion is opened.

    Depends: If i have a surface deposit of ore i see, 100% pick. If i have no surface deposit, what do i want to do with the pick alone? Dig usless around in the stone to loose the pick and start off again or be able to melt my next ores a lot faster? Though if i had 2 ingots, it would be a hard decision, pick and propick or chisel and pick.

  11. if the texture is just plain orange you did something wrong. Either your config, the game or the resources file. Try to reinstall everything from scratch and download the latest resources folder. Should work after that.

    wow...i do that so rarely, that i didnt even think of it... I guess im gonna be a fisherman now... But i hope (as it was hinted) that we will find some wild berry bushes and stuff in later builds. Then i can happily live with the "one harvest/year" thing. I think you'll get rich with selling food on servers.

    Id'love to, if it would actually shorten the year, not the days. Ever played on 6000 ticks days? It's a pain... its day, night, day, night, day, night and you didn't even do anything.... you're just hiding, doinge a little, hiding and so on. Not fun to play.

    go into the TFCoptions file (found in config folder) theres a point: (3rd point in general) Enable debug mode => set to true and open a game in creative, then open calendar and you see the options to skip: hours, days, weeks, months and even years. As long as debug mode is on you though will not be able to use the calendar in survival mode.

    all kind of ores: sphalerite, cassiterite, bismuth etc all the stuff that spawned very differently in 47. Not sure if that would fit more in discussion or even bug report...

    yes but fruit trees in first year: not so much food. In the 2nd year the problem gets a lot smaller, but the start is what i think is very very hard.

    let me test that. Well i looked at it from a SMP perspective, i mean i understand that the old wheat farms where far too easy, but the crops are far too hard. It would already help if you could get 2 harvests in 1 year, but one is very hard. you will need a massive stockpile of food for winter or you will just die... a lot. Edit: Just tested it in SSP: plant crops in early spring, move away about 400 blocks (should unload the chunks) skip through to september, come back: crops rdy for harvest. At least that works.

    not luck...the whole ground is filled with the huge caves again, this is the cave system that was used in 46. In 47 it just had very small caves all around. no big ones.

  25. Forge won't work

    Why didn't your first work: the bend has to be on the first block above the forge as salvatos explained. A trapdoor does not count as block and will NOT shield your forge from rain. Make a chimned as explained in the picture salvatos posted. Anything else won't work, since the forge just searches for a bend in the first block above itself. Any further bend is recognized as "no direct way to sky". Why did your creative-setup work? i dont know, maybe a bug with the bloomery... not sure though. Build it as in the picture and you won't have any problems.
