      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. *nods*  Good point.  I think part of my worry was that I apparently can't read right and had thought it said I HAD to delete the configs. And I hadn't wanted to close down my server at the moment to do that. lol In any case, I'll try to do better next time. You all are wonderful, and TFC is just about the ONLY reason I still play minecraft honestly.

  2. Aaaaaah, gotcha. Should I always use the template still, or when it's something that I feel is probably going to be more simple (like this one)  just giving you the version numbers for the mods will suffice?  Oh, and is there a way for me to seal the topic myself/say its solved, anything like that?

  3. My apologies Kitty. You've been truly wonderful and a big help to me many times, last thing I wish to do is make things more difficult for you.  Since it wasn't a crash or anything like that, I hadn't actually thought about the template.

In any case, it's smooth marble, and yes, I'd sliced the very top part of the block off with a chisel so that mobs couldn't spawn on the roof.

Have you read, understood, and followed all of the rules listed in large text at the top of the support forum? (Yes/No): Yes

Answering "no" to the above question will result in your post being deleted.

TFC Version #: 0.79.20 Forge Version #: 13.13.4.1448 Please note that an actual number must be provided for both of the above fields.Simply saying "current" or "latest" will result in your post being locked, due to the fact that in a large number of cases, users who say they are using the "latest" or "current" version are actually using an outdated version. SSP/SMP (SinglePlayer/MultiPlayer): SMP Description: Have a block above my forge, a chimney to the side of the forge.  The chimney works to allow the forge air to work, but the forge does not work when it rains. Have you deleted your config files or are using default configs and are still able to reproduce this bug? (Yes/No): I have not deleted them, but have not edited them either. If you answered no to the above question, delete all 3 TFC config files (TFCCrafting, TFCOptions, TFCOre), do NOT edit or add to any of the files, and try to reproduce the bug. This question is here because many bugs are caused by mistakes in config files. All bug reports should have an answer of "Yes" to this question. Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed? (Yes/No): YesIf yes, which mods? CodeChickenCore 1.0.7.46, NotEnoughItems 1.0.5.111, Waila 1.5.10, Fastcraft 1.21, Journeymap 5.1.0, Optifine 1.7.10 HD U C1 If you have Optifine or Cauldron installed, can you still reproduce the bug after uninstalling them? (Yes/No): No. If I need to uninstall it to check, I can, but since this doesn't feel like a graphical, memory, or corruptive situation, I was thinking Optifine's not the issue. If you answered no to the above question, uninstall Optifine/Cauldron and try to reproduce the bug. Both Optifine and Cauldron edit the base classes of forge that TFC uses. Because of this, we cannot officially support any issues that happen only when these mods are installed. In the majority of cases, TFC is not causing the bug; Optifine/Cauldron is and TFC can do nothing to fix it.All bug reports should have an answer of "Yes" to this question. If you refuse to uninstall Optifine/Cauldron, and cannot reproduce the bug when the mods are not installed, do not bother making a bug report, as it will be locked and ignored. Pastebin.com link of the Crash Report:

  4. Not really a bug, at least I don't think so... but more like a question. Has forges been changed so that they NEVER work when it rains, or am I doing something wrong? I have a hole open in the ceiling one block to the side of where the forge is for use as a chimney (even have a trapdoor on the hole). The 'chimney' works just fine, since the forge works. But, when it rains, the forge will not work, even though the chimney is a block to the side, instead of directly above the forge. Any thoughts?

  5. Thank you Kitty, apparently I'd been told wrong then. I'd been told by another player that ALL stone, along with logs were affected by gravity. Going to have to yell at him later :P

  6. This isn't a bug, so I'm not sure if this question should be in the Support forum, if it is, would a mod please move it?

This is driving me absolutely crazy to the point that it's making me not even want to play sadly. It's been quite a long time since I've played, and there's been a good bit of gravity changes and such. (I believe last time I played, we used cobblestone for walls and roof) I know thatch works for roofing.  And it's quite nice for it overall. But the problem is... what ELSE can I possibly use for roofing? It seems like every single idea I could come up with to have a solid block on the roof, I get told is gravity affected and either wouldn't work at all for a roof, or would be so annoying to have it used as a roof material as to be useless.. dirt, cobblestone, stone, wood... I'd like to have some sort of a solid roof over my metal-working area, that won't catch on fire. (I have my walls like 5 or 6 high, something like that, just so that my partial thatch roof won't catch on fire, although I still have to have the thatch at least two blocks to the side of directly overhead or else they'll still catch on fire)  And would like solid blocks in the roof to be able to attach trapdoor's for chimneys.  And just would like to have more design choice.

I'm guessing that my thought of 'only thatch can be used' is incorrect, and that I AM missing some obvious choices, but... with every choice being wrong, I'm starting to get a bit drained at trying to think of it, and was hoping some people here might be able to give me help/a list of ideas that I can use.  Any help is appreciated.

And just to mention, overall.. I love TFC and honestly do feel that this is the way minecraft SHOULD be played.

  7. All of a sudden one of my players said he 'fell through the ground' and is inside of solid dirt. I see his character as standing above ground, and any 'actions' he does, I see.

He has logged out and back in, and closed down minecraft and came back, and is still seeing himself as 'inside of the ground' and unable to do anything.

I have deleted his player.dat file, and when he came back to the server, he went right back into the ground.  I have looked in his player.dat file to try to edit it, but the file is actually showing his coordinates exactly as they SHOULD be... walking ontop of the ground, not below ground level.

I have OP'd him and set to creative, with still no fix.

This all started when he crashed out of the game with this error:

2:49:23 AM [iNFO] [sTDERR] java.net.SocketException: Socket closed2:49:23 AM [iNFO] [sTDERR]  at java.net.SocketOutputStream.socketWrite(Unknown Source)2:49:23 AM [iNFO] [sTDERR]  at java.net.SocketOutputStream.write(Unknown Source)2:49:23 AM [iNFO] [sTDERR]  at org.bouncycastle.crypto.io.CipherOutputStream.write(Unknown Source)2:49:23 AM [iNFO] [sTDERR]  at java.io.BufferedOutputStream.flushBuffer(Unknown Source)2:49:23 AM [iNFO] [sTDERR]  at java.io.BufferedOutputStream.flush(Unknown Source)2:49:23 AM [iNFO] [sTDERR]  at java.io.DataOutputStream.flush(Unknown Source)2:49:23 AM [iNFO] [sTDERR]  at net.minecraft.network.TcpWriterThread.run(SourceFile:121)

Also, his disconnect reason is listed on the server as disconnect:overflow

Ever since then, he has been being knocked off of the server every 15-20 seconds or so with this exact same error message.

(Edit:  Also, in case it's useful at all, the original instance of this happening occured when he tried to tame a horse and went to sit on it. )

  8. Hmm.. odd.. ok, I'll try it again soon, I wasn't able to get any last time.   Another random question though if you see this.... how do I go about smithing any armors?  I see that I need plans.. and to make those I need a scribing table.. but.. I can't find any way to make one?

  9. I thought that just changed the percentage of which you got.... but the actual <i>drop</i> chance for getting any metal at all from gold panning dropped significantly from 78.9 to 78.10, or am I finding some sort of bug maybe?

    0

  10. Thank you very much Kittychanley, I'll remember that for next time. And thank you for that ntwitch, but I grabbed 78.11 today, tried gold panning... no crashing now, but I've went through a good bit of dirt and not gotten any metals at all (tried it in chunks I hadn't worked before) Has anything perhaps changed with the panning that anyone knows of?

  11. I haven't paid enough attention to know if this is the exact same issue, but.. what I've observed.... is when you open the meal preperation window, if you pick up food from your INVENTORY, it always drops to the ground, but if the food is on your item bar, you can pick it up from there and put it in the window without any problems at all.  At least that's how it's worked for me. I'm not defending it, I still think it's a minor bug, but at least that's a workaround I've found.

  12. Running a small server, was gold panning last night on 78.9 without any issues, updated today to 78.10 and now every about 2-5 times I run water over the pan (it varies) The server will crash, showing this: (apologies beforehand if different information/logs are needed.. and if they are needed to be posted here in a different way (like I've seen some forums use 'spoiler' posts to hide the text and stuff.. first time actually doing this, let me know if I need to change something for this post to make it more helpful/easier to use and I will)

  13. Actually that was exactly it, thank you very much.  I'm a friggin idiot. :P  I had installed NEI because I wanted the lighting overlay, but wanted to get the items and such off of my inventory screen because I'm not going to use it to get items, and I think I must've hit the gamemode change accidentally in it and just never noticed.  Works great now.

  14. An entertaining, and starting to be quite annoying problem..... all of a sudden, I can't punch any blocks. I can craft, and I can dig/etc. using tools, but can't break ANYTHING by hand, not thatch, not grass, not dirt, I can't even pick up any rocks off the ground.

This is on a small server I'm running for friends and family.

It's not at spawn point.. I'm Opped.. and everyone else can do things just fine.

Anyone have any ideas at all?  Thank you in advance for any help.
