ATTENTION Forum Database Breach 03/04/2019
There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again. -
This forum is now READ ONLY! 01/20/2020
As of this post and forever into the future this forum has been put into READ ONLY MODE. There will be no new posts! A replacement is coming SoonTM . If you wish to stay up-to-date on whats going on or post your content. Please use the Discord or Sub-Reddit until the new forums are running.
Any questions or comments can be directed to Claycorp on either platform.

Thought that might have been the issue
But at least it all good now.

So you could not even place the sluice, because it was in an ore-less environment?
Because I'd find that interesting.

Hmm... speaking of the suggestion forums, there was already a post depicting, pretty much, exactly what your 'fix' would be.
http://terrafirmacra...harcoal-stacks/
And I for one would like something like that, but wouldn't be too surprised if the current setup is just a placeholder as Bioxx works out everything else.

I'm getting incredibly frustrated because I can't make these damn sluices work for me. Do they have to be placed in a river biome or is that just for panning? I finally got a sluice to put down and the water just runs over the top of it like it's a dirt block or something, any help at all in how to set it up?
I've setup one just in a forest biome, with no river biome near by (that I'm aware of).
Could you post a screen shot of what your trying to do, so we might be able to see whats wrong. http://imgur.com/ is a good website for that.
But the basics is that you need to carve out the dirt, by the water source, until it stops flowing. then dig down one more level for 2 blocks, then dig down once more. Stand in the flowing water, and place the sluice in the 2 deep area, and the water will flow off that into the last dug hole.
On the side of the 2x1 area for the Sluice, there must be blocks holding it.
Below is a image of a sluice and a area suitable for a sluice.
When placing it, you must be upstream.

Ok, I finally got the latest one installed and tried running the sluices and gold pan and having issues. Does the sluice still have to go eight blocks from the water source? Also, I am right clicking to fill the gold pan ad right clicking again, is that how it works? I did that for a while and got no results so wondering if I'm doing it wrong.
For panning, that's pretty much how it works. You just need to fill it with some sand/gravel (from the river?) and then strain it through running water. It might take several times to get anything, but it'll say something if you're not doing it right. Also you might just be unfortunate enough to not have any ore in the area of the river, as the sluice and I believe panning, surveys the area for the possible ores you can pan for.

You didn't mention, but do you have your hammer in your tool bar too?

So did anyone notice that javalins don't require a bench anymore? They take 1 stick now.
I would hope there'd be a few, since it was stated in the change log:
Removed one stick from the Javelin recipe. It is now just a rock on top of a stick.

In addition to dropping sand/gravel into the path of the sluice, you can also r-click your filled gold pan, onto the sluice, to add 7 dirt/'fuel' to the sluice.
I mainly just use that to top it off.

Well glad that worked.
As for the Hamachi TFC server, should be the same as the reg Hamachi minecraft server server (besides forge and all that in the jar), but as for instructions, here are some:
don't know how good they are, i've only glanced over them.
and for the TCF server portion of it

Did you add the TFC_Resources to your jar?

Seen the issue from the picture several times around here, but if it's not that, I don't quite recall what it was then.

As Jeb has found out already, he needed sides where his sluice was (not sure about exact placement).
Here's a working model.

It needs to have some sides. (not sure of exact placement)
So try extending your blocks out one more.
Here's a working one:

I never tried with meat, but I had issues just getting torches in the firepits. http://www.terrafirmacraft.com/bugs/view.php?id=444
Not sure if it's possible for you, but at least for me, the forge seemed to work just fine to cook them up.
