      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

In short, the compendium would be a folder that you would place drawn plans into. This would then store the plans you've put into it and when right clicked, you would see a listing of the plans currently in the compendium. Right clicking the icon for the desired plan would allow you to retrieve the plan from the compendium, removing it from the compendium item and returning it to your inventory. Let's face it; the plans are each just a rolled up piece of paper and making a binder for them would be sensable for any organized blacksmith to do. Two planks of wood and three pieces of leather would make the item.

It's not ground breaking, it's not required for survival, but it makes sense.

Why not just make books have a small storage space capable only of storing plans. along with whatever notes you'd want to scribble down there yourself.

Make it heavy and large so you can't put it in chests, but can right click to place it on any flat surface. Otherwise it would be too convenient for TFCraft!

Sooner or later Jeb is gonna buckle under all the people who wants to be able to store books in bookcases. Mojang probably already intends to do so one way or another.

If you're gonna store books, in which you store your plans then you're gonna want to store them where they belong! in a bookcase.

Mojang will surely come forward with a feature like this at one time or another, just give them some time my good man, it will come. And if not, we always have our good chaps Bioxx and Dunk to ask.

The Mystcraft mod has tomestands in which the player can place his books to the worlds he create.

Is that what you're thinking of?
