      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Standard Airsoft Rifle

I have been considering a good, sturdy, and basic airsoft gun to use as a standard in certain games. The reason for this is, if everyone has the exact same, basic equipment it quickly becomes about the individuals physical and mental prowess, along with their ability to work with others. Most games quickly become an arm's race for who can get the biggest/fastest/most powerful/most accurate/etcetera gun.

So, I want to see a game with a level playing field in terms of equipment. I have been trying to look for type of gun to invest in that would be able to serve this role.

My rough requirements are:

  • Tough and reliable, able to handle getting dirty and beat up while still functioning
  • Spring (only spring gives the balance between price and durability)
  • Under $50
  • 350-400+ fps
One gun in particular I was considering was the Famas. I have several already, and they are tough, reliable, powerful and simple all for their price range (online I usually see them around 35-45 dollars).

Has anyone had experiences with any other type of rifle that would work for a standard in a game like this? Or even experiences with games where all equipment is standard.

This would also elimitate the concern of breaking someone else's gun because you borrowed it, or the worry of lending your's out. If they're all the same and easy to replace, you grab any gun and and run.
