      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Found Some Nice Trees..

10 posts in this topic

So I was exploring the land around my little hut, and I found these massive trees. Looks like I'll be set for wood for awhile. What are they called?

Nevermind, just found that they're called Sequoia Trees. Are they rare at all?

Unsure about rarity, but they are not renewable as they do not have saplings. Once you cut them down, they are gone.

Alright thanks, I've cut down 2 of them and I think I'm set for wood for the time being. and even if I run out I've got more than enough trees in the surrounding area.

... In fact, right now, they do have saplings. They don't drop from the leaves, but instead generate over time due to the new trees sapling mechanic. These saplings do grow into big trees, although not as big as natural ones... so yeah :|

Speaking about trees, anyone have an idea whether there is a speed difference between an axe and a saw when cutting trees? I haven't built an axe yet, since the dual purpose of the saw seems to get me more bang for the ingot. Maybe there is a durability difference when chopping logs?

Sorry for the OT, didn't know where to put this really...

Nah, don't worry, this thread was pretty much finished anyways.

From what i know, saws are a bit faster than the axe of the same tier... I actually wonder why we have metal axes, but meh, let's let them be.

You can chop someone with it more effectively than with the stone one. And you don't blow two ingots on sword, which is not a big deal by any stretch of imagination, but still.

But saws also take one only ingot, and make the same damage as axes...

Saws are better than axes for getting wood, but they do less damage than axes. But if you plan to have a sword, that won't matter.

Also with the saw you can craft support beams
