      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Bloomery

7 posts in this topic

I am pretty sure that for regular sized ore, you get 1 ingot for about every 8 ore. I've even got an ingot for only 3 before, in a fire pit. However, in my bloomery, I threw 16 ore in, and 17 charcoal, and only got one ingot. They were regular sized because they only stacked up to 8.

Does this mean fire pits are more efficient? Or did my ore evaporate? It was bismithunite, or however you spell it.

ore (strangely) doesn't evaporate in the bloomery. It's just taht the amount of ore required for filling a mold is pretty random. YOu could have got the 3 per mold ratio in the bloomery, as well as the 16 per mold ratio in the firepit.

I tried what you made and I got 5 full bismuth molds and about 0.01 of bismuth in a mold.

It is something about 0.15 to 0.4 (or 0.5 even) ingots per regular ore chunk.

0.0625 is a bit ridiculous, which is what I had.

When there is finished ore in bloomery, does it slowly go away?

Nope. It stays in there, and you can retrieve it in molds even if it's not liquid any more. This bloomery stuff is a bit wierd, really, but at least it's functional gameplay wise :

I don't think it is. You can just extract remaining drops in mold and store it away untill it will be of use again.

Edit:

Damn ninjas.
