Launcher doesn't start minecraft under certain conditions, game very laggy when it works.

I can successfully get the game running under default options for TFC, but it does not launch the game when i have the "remember me" box checked or if I change the memory usage. The main reason I want to change the memory usage is to attempt to fix the horrendous freezing I get in game that lasts for about 10 seconds before I can successfully move for another 2 seconds. I have already tried reinstalling it,

I am also having this exact same issue. I have a great computer that can run minecraft at 60+fps and my brother who barely scratches 30fps can run the game perfectly!

Reinstall Java 64bit, I just did that and now its running perfectly and I was able to switch allocated memory as well. (thats if you're using 64bit)

This mod simply will not run acceptably with less than 2.5 GB of allocated memory, making it completely incompatible with 32-bit Java and OSes. I don't know about the launcher problems but if it won't work you can try alternative launchers like Magic / MultiMC. Could you tell us more about your OS and the environment you're trying to run it in?

Installing Optifine and setting "Chunk Loading" to "Smooth" might help.

EDIT: Actually, I think 32-bit Java is indeed the problem here. I wrote a guide about how I fixed lag on my 32-bit system, in case it helps.

Are you playing singleplayer or multiplayer? If you're playing singleplayer I suggest you go find a video on how to use MultiMc for your terrafirmacraft. Personally I think it's really easy.

scioham, I've always played TFC with 1gb dedicated in Macig launcher. I just changed it to 1.5gb as it is sometime a bit laggy. I don't think that you need 2.5gb, far from it.
