      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Game crashes after a random amount of time ingame

6 posts in this topic

Hi,

I got this weird problem. I downloaded the launcher and started the game over it (thats why the bat file doesn't work for me, sorry). Installed Optifine (yes the right version) and Rei's Minimap (alos the right version) and everythign works out fine. Except for when i am ingame, after a seemingly random amount of time, the game just closes. No error, no nothing, just crash, back to desktop and the error file gets created.

This is the header of the error code.

#

# A fatal error has been detected by the Java Runtime Environment:

#

# EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x5d479fcc, pid=5064, tid=5840

#

# JRE version: 7.0_21-b11

# Java VM: Java HotSpot Client VM (23.21-b01 mixed mode windows-x86 )

# Problematic frame:

# C [atioglxx.dll+0x149fcc]

#

# Failed to write core dump. Minidumps are not enabled by default on client versions of Windows

# The crash happened outside the Java Virtual Machine in native code.

# See problematic frame for where to report the bug.

#

If you need it, i will paste the rest of the error. I read that i had to update my graphics driver and i did, but it didn't solve the problem. In addition, I cannot change the memory allocation. If i try, MC doesn't start anymore. I found a solution for that on this forum and tried it, but the tutorial was written for windows 8 (i am on windows 7) and i didn't find the PATH variable (only a Path one) where no Java path was included.

I hope that made sense to someone. Please help ... i love this mad :/

Thanks in advance.

Are you using a 32bit or 64bit version of Windows 7? If you are using 64bit, do you have 64bit java installed? Also check Uninstall Programs in your Control Panel to see if you still have older versions of java installed as well that need to be removed. Whenever java updates, it just installs the newest version without uninstalling the old ones.

i just recently updated to 64 bit java 7 again, and uninstalled all java versions before. the only 32 bit java version i have on my system is for chrome. also, i have win7 64 bit.

edit: after reinstalling java 64 bit again and this time not installing the java 32 bit version for my browser, i could at least start tfc with more allocated ram. need more time to test for crashes

Yes, TFC really needs a 64bit system in order to run properly. It's too processor heavy.

I also get this bug, typically after about 4-5 mins of play. I am running java 1.6.0-24 (64 bit)
