Launcher Memory config issues

Hey guys,

I have attempted to play this mod and run into some problems.

I am using the launcher so I put in my details and it downloads the mod and launches I create a world which takes a little longer than expected but still reasonable I start playing and after about 5 minutes the fps drops to 1 and lets me attempt to move once every 5 seconds until it comes to a run out of memory screen and the options of main menu or exit game. I click exit game to change the amount of allocated RAM I change the min to 1024 and the max to 2048, I them login the launcher disappears and the game does not launch no FML or anything I try this multiple time and get the same result. I switch back to 512 and 1024 RAM and the game launches fine but I know it's just going to crash again so I come here!

I am running an i5 2500k and 8GB of RAM of which it gets to 4.2 before crashing.

Anyone else experiencing this? are there any fixes?

Wait! I seem to have solved it, I set the RAM back to default (512 1024) and instead created a .bat file with this

javaw -Xmx2048m -Xms1024m -jar "C:UsersJoshuaDesktopTFCLauncher.jar"

It now runs fine, although when I open the debugger (F3) it still says I have the default amount of ram allocated.

I was trying to run the launcher this way just now and it kept starting with the default memory.

Try running the launcher normally and click "Settings" before you log in to change the memory allocation there. That worked for me.

That's what I did the first time, and it made the game not launch. I think the options may be bugged, maybe it's just me.
