      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Framerate issues

I've skimmed through the threads and looked at the guides as much as I can. I switched to Java 64 bit to match my OS. It helped temporarily. I allocated more memory, lowered my performance options in Minecraft....nothing has really helped for more than a couple of minutes when I open up my game.

On Vanilla I normally run 40 or more FPS. On TFC, if I am lucky, I get around 10, with lag spikes taking me down to 4 every few seconds. I was using a 32x texture pack, and I thought that might be the problem, so I removed it. I got only 1 or 2 more FPS after that. Every once in a while the game freezes for a second. Before the Java Update that I did, it was crashing due to lack of memory.

I used this guide to try to help with some of my framerate issues. I have 64-bit Java, I managed the garbage collection step, and I increased the memory limits. I wasn't able to install Optifine. I tried following the instructions these instructions, with no luck. The steps were simple and I followed them exactly as they were described there. I'm not sure what the problem is. Do I need to use a specific version of Optifine? I chose OptiFine_1.5.1_L_B1.

I think Optifine will be my last attempt at this, unless someone has another suggestion or two. Can someone help me figure out how to install Optifine?

I currently use OptiFine_1.5.1_HD_U_D1, which is the most updated of the ultimate version for Minecraft 1.5.1

Make sure it is the LAST mod on the loadorder.txt. Also make sure you are doing these changes in the TFC directory and not the vanilla minecraft one. Usually C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/tfcraft
