      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved] Stutters and serious graphical glitches?

I'd like to apologize in advance if this has already been answered numerous times, I just cannot seem to find solution to this problem. 

 

My computer can run minecraft vanilla at 60-80 fps. However, in TFC, it drops to 15-30. This doesn't exactly surprise me. What I'm confused about is that no matter how fancy or fast the graphics are(with optifine), I still get stutters and graphical glitches of the same frequency. The graphical glitches I'm talking about is that for a brief 1/10 of a second, a large chunk will seem to dissappear. Also, whenever something falls(like dirt due to gravity), everything around me looks like it vanishes for an extremely brief moment. I'm not sure as to why it does this. Any suggestions?

If you are using the ultra version of optifine, try switching to the standard version. Sometimes ultra can cause lag spikes like the ones you are describing.

It worked! All the graphical glitches I mentioned are gone and a lot of the lag is gone too. Now it's just tweaking the settings. Thanks!
