Jet and Ink

I thought about it and...  Wouldn't it be better if you just used ink for plans and writing on books?  and use the mineral jet as black dye instead of ink.  Because when would you use ink as dye...? plus that would make jet  have a use.  but what to dye with it is the question.

If you give me the choice between using inksac, that was used for production of a brown pigment names Sepia, or to use Jet, that is a gem that was used in jewel making... well I would use inksac as a dye.

TFC isnt about realisim its about belivablity and jet deposits in the game are very large from what ive seen.  The ammount you would get from squids in nothing compared to ore.

Realism : In real life, you soak cloth in a dye solution for weeks. In game you could mix the dye powder in a water barrel and seal it for like 2-3 in game weeks. And of course, you would need to remove lapis dye, as it is a pigment and not a dye.

 

Belivability: Use items in game that are dye or pigment and use them as a coloring agent in crafting recipes.

 

How is it believable that you would be able to dye stuff using a gem that is black in color, but that can not be used as a pigment ? It is, from my point of view, unrealistic and unbelievable. And I think what game developers would say, as Dunk ask to remove the rose to red dye recipe. And do you know why he did so? The answer is in my dye post.
