Plank block change.

I suggest changing plank blocks from medium heavy to medium medium, so that they can stack to 16 as opposed to 8. I find it odd that we can carry more logs than planks, when the planks are made from the logs. Also you can carry 64 crafting benches and chest, both items use multiple plank blocks in their creation but as these are vanilla items it may not be a fair comparison as I don't think you can change vanilla item stack sizes without remaking the item as a TFC item. Also, plank blocks take up a ton of chest space now, and there is no alternative to store them.

For the crafting benches and chests, I agree with you, but I think that bioxx and dunk didn't have the times to balance this things yet since they are into more interesting stuffs right now.

 

For the chests place problem with planks, why don't you just keep them in logs pile? and only chop them in planks when the necessity come

a log will give you 8 planks yes? and out of 8 planks you can make 2 plank blocks, and that looks to me like a 1 to 2 ratio. would it not be logical that a plank block would weight half as mush as a log then?

I have been chopping as needed. But I decided to change a wall of my house and now I need to use 1/4 of a small chest just to store the planks. Perhaps adding a way to make them into the smaller planks will help sole this issue as well.

How does that thread answer my question? I didn't mention changing inventory sizes anywhere in my post. Regardless, there will be a feature in B78 that addresses this as Dunk showed yesterday.

Well, you can follow some of the others' suggestions: me, if I have been cutting too much wood and I don't have the space for it, I would try to find a way to use those planks, like building a wall, as you have stated in an earlier post. Maybe you could craft supports out of it to either expand your mines, or just use it as a decoration in your mining tunnels (make the tunnels feel like a mine).

 

To be honest, this storage issue might be resolved if the more extensive and advanced portions of carpentry was implemented so that to build a house and furniture made of planks, your stores might run out quickly. Or, you can convert it into wooden shafts so it would serve to be better tool handles for tools and weapons if this was implemented.

I don't think you can make support beams out of the plank blocks, only logs. (Correct me if I am wrong, will edit after testing) In build 78 there will be a way to craft plank blocks into smaller planks so this will be a mute point. Good suggestions on how to use them though!
