      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Suggested Name: Flint and Steel defaulting

Suggested Category: Annoying

Description: Flint and steel functions as vanilla (On occasion...) causing fire to start on pretty much any surface, and sometimes just burning sticks instead of making a firepit. It also has the unfortunate side-effect of being a tool of arson and grief.

Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes

I think that flint and steel is intended to relight firepit or start bloomery... not to start the firepit. And as in vanilla, yes you can use it to grief. If it's a problem in the server where you play,I would suggest to disable it. It's a bit trickier, but I know a way that used to work to burn down a house using a firepit, so griefers will always find a way.

If you have cheats enabled in SSP, or are an OP in SMP simply do /gamerule doFireTick false to stop the spread of fire and greifing.

 

The TFC flint & steel is indeed meant to be used like it's vanilla version in its ability to light fire blocks in game.
