      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Installing with OptiFine

Hello everybody! Can anyone tell me how to install it with OptiFine?

The mod'es instructions indicates that a profile "OptiFine" gets created when installing from the jar file and that must be selected to play with it, but TFC won't load using that profile, only using the "Forge" profile

For me, I first installed TFC normally as directed by the wiki instructions. Once I confirmed TFC working, I simply dropped Optifine's jar file into the mods folder of the Forge profile and it works fine.

mm, that does't work for me. Dropping the jar file doesnt load it

 

Edit: I got the message that a new OptiFine version is available, does that means that the mod is loaded? I haven't played Minecraft for almost a year and a half, befor that time OptiFine gave a lot of new options in the video settings,I don't see them anymore

I get the same new version message, so I think that it is loaded for you as well. You can check for sure by looking in the bottom left corner while at Minecraft's in-game main menu, also by clicking on the Mods button on the main menu and scrolling the list presented to see if it's there. I definitely have more tweakable options within Video Settings, although Optifine does a pretty good job of making them all look authentic so it was difficult for me to tell at first.

It's not on the mods list, that's why I'm in doubt

Edit: Sorry, my bad. I was using the wrong version of OptiFine, the one that is incompatible with Forge
