      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Hello, I've been playing this mod for couple of weeks, after long months in BTW. I love this one and can't decide, but i guess TFC is better. I've been playing with mods (TFC is on forge which is huge + ), especially graphic ones. My problem is, when I'm running shader mods and fancy minecraft graphic setting i'm getting 7 fps, and on fast i got steady 60. I could play on fast, why not, but rocks on the ground  are not lying still. Is there any way to use fast graphics and this feature to allow sticks and rocks lie ?

edit:

the hardware/software is not a problem I guess, I have got rather high end pc.

I do use OptiFine_1.6.4_HD_C6. What version do you use ? Any specifical configuration of optifine helped you? I have been lurking around optifine's options but couldnt find anything that would help in this case.

In the current version, there is no way to use global Fast graphics and have the rocks lie flat on the ground. If you have optifine installed, I believe there is a specific option for item rendering, which you can change to Fancy which will override the global fast setting.

Thanks for answer :) Well, couldnt find item rendering in options, found items animations but I dont think it has to do anything with my problem, which is somehow gameplay breaking. I know I could just turn the shaders off, but minecraft looks so epic with them.. If you could, can you precise where to find this option? Maybe in config files ?

At one point changing "Dropped Items" located under "Details..." fixed it. It looks like however that this is no longer the case. Sorry.

Edit: Your other choice is to set the global setting to fancy, and then to change all of the individual settings within the menu to fast. This won't give you as big as a performance boost as using global fast, but at least items and stuff will render properly.

Tried that way you suggested, now my minecraft looks totally the same on fancy and fast and.. lol, the only difference between the two is my crosshair gets laggy and feels like heavy. Too bad its impossible to hook items rendering to fast graphic settings :( Is it ?

edit: and thanks for caring and ansering me again :)

For the next major build, which won't be released for a while, fast graphics mean that the items will "render" as just the texture flat on top of the block below it, instead of as the floating item that is always facing you.

Either way using fast graphics is still going to be pretty ugly, and at least in the current build you can see the items from a distance.
