      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

From the FAQ Page: http://terrafirmacraft.com/faq.html

Why can't I find Kapok or Acacia saplings?

It is a design decision to make getting kapok/acacia saplings impossible. This is partially a balance issue (I know I could let you have small trees if I wanted), but it also has two other reasons behind it.
[*]It introduces a concept to lumber that is lacking, scarcity. You might have all the wood you could need for a while if you start in a jungle biome but you'll find out sooner or later that it all goes away and you'll never again have purple planks unless you find another jungle. [*]It also raises awareness to the very real problem that we face on earth of our jungles being wiped out by systematic logging. (I'm no tree-hugger, but this sad).

Edit: This is also stated on the wiki page for Saplings as well: http://wiki.terrafirmacraft.com/Sapling

Note: Sequoia saplings do not drop from leaves, but still regenerate in natural Sequoia Forests. Acacia and Kapok saplings are only available by cheating them in.

Oops... I thought that was Kapok and Sequoia, not Acacia. That explains why I didn't find any threads about it... Derp.

Just for clarification, it's actually all 3 trees (Kapok, Sequoia, Acacia) that do not drop saplings. Sequoia is the odd one out of the three though, in that its saplings do generate along with the tall grass in any world-generated sequoia forests. What this means is that if you chop down a Kapok or Acacia forest, it's gone forever. But, if you chop down a Sequoia forest, you can hang out in that area in the warmer months of the year, and saplings will slowly start popping up and the forest will eventually grow back.
