      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved] Bricks not stacking properly

12 posts in this topic

Version #: 0.7.14.514

SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer): SSP

Suggested Name: Brick Stacking Bug

Suggested Category: Annoying

Description: When I create bricks from using the chisel on rocks, I am unable to stack in the crafting interface box. I have to create one brick, bring it down to my inventory and then create another and keep repeating this process.

Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes

Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: Yes

If yes, which mods?

I have Journeymap Unlimited installed.

Have you tried relogging? It's likely that your chisel was bugged and the bricks you are crafting are actually ghost items that don't exist.

Relogging? I have logged out and back in multiple times if that's what you mean and it hasn't worked. I did have this problem with using a copper chisel and a bronze chisel.

What's the durability on the chisel look like? Have you used the chisel for anything else such as detailing blocks?

My bronze chisel's durability is still green, and I have only used it for making bricks.

Unfortunately I can't reproduce this. Putting a bronze chisel in the crafting grid along with basalt rocks. I can right click on the output slot and it will craft them all and put them on my cursor. I can left click multiple times to craft the bricks and they all stack on the cursor. I can left click once, and then right click to stack them all. And I can shift click the output and they are all crafted at once.

Have you tried throwing the chisel and the bricks you crafted on the ground? Honestly the only way that this would be happening is if you somehow managed to use up all of the bronze chisel's durability, and it somehow reset instead of actually deleting the item.

This is weird, just to make sure, I just made myself a copper chisel, and I still cannot stack unless they are in my inventory. Also the bricks I made with my bronze chisel will not stack with the ones I made with my copper chisel. I also threw them on the ground and picked them up again, and it doesn't help. I have tried using different rocks as well and it doesn't make any difference.

Edit: I just created a new world in creative and gave myself some rocks and a chisel, changed game state to survival, and stacking works as it should. I don't understand why it won't work in my other world though.

Did you cast the chisel, or did you smith it?

I smithed both the bronze one I have been using and the copper one I just made.

Ok, I can reproduce it with a smithed chisel. The problem is the durability buff that you get from smithing the chisel. For now, if you want to create a whole bunch of bricks at once, shift clicking the output still works.

Right thanks, I have tried shift clicking and it works a treat, it is still annoying however that I cannot merge the shift click stack with the other stacks I made. I now have three spaces of my inventory/chest used up, one for bricks made with copper chisel, one with bronze chisel and one with shift clicked.

Ok, I'm fairly certain I found what's causing it. Just got to double check with Bioxx before making the change, but this one should be solved for .15
