      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Crash when I load up a world..

Version #: 0.79.13.505

SSP/SMP (Single/MultiPlayer): Singleplayer

Suggested Name: Random Chunk Errors

Suggested Category: Severe/Annoying

Description

Have you deleted your config files and are still able to reproduce this bug?: Yes
*If you answered no to the above question, delete your config files and try to reproduce the bug. This question is here because many bugs are caused by mistakes in config files. All bug reports should have an answer of "Yes" to this question.

Do you have any mods other than Forge and TFC installed?: No

If yes, which mods?

If you have Optifine or Cauldron installed, can you still reproduce the bug after uninstalling them?
*Both Optifine and Cauldron edit the base classes of forge that TFC uses. Because of this, we cannot officially support any issues that happen only when these mods are installed.

A quick google shows that this crash isn't TFC related, as it happens with a very wide variety of forge mods. In essence, your player.dat file became corrupted, which can be caused by a huge variety of issues, including vanilla ones. You'll need to delete your players .dat file in order to join that world again. Note that it will delete everything that you had in your inventory as well, and you will be put back at the world's spawn point.

Ah, I see thanks for the response Kitty.

I'll see if I can do anything with MCEdit to get my items back first.

Okay... it can't be my player.dat file because it works in other worlds... and if I delete it, it still doesn't work.

So you copied your player.dat file from one world save into a different world save and there was no issues in the new world, and you had the same items in your inventory as in the other save? If that truly is the case, then the only other explanation is that there are corrupted chunks in your world. Specifically the chunk that your player was located in was corrupted. However, unless that chunk is within loading distance of the world's original spawn, it makes no sense that deleting the player.dat file didn't work, because you should be logging in at a completely separate location away from the corrupted chunks.

Yes I did try using my player.dat into a new world and I still had everything. So I guess that makes sense as I am within the spawn chunks... now how could I fix this.. if it is fixable.

You could try using a 3rd party tool like the Minecraft Region Fixer to attempt and fix the corruption, but it's much more likely you'll have to use something like MCEdit and just delete the corrupted chunks, which will completely reset them back to how they were at original world generation.
