      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Smithing with Tin

5 posts in this topic

So, it's been two days since I got this mod and I'm loving it. Most of the things i'm doing was following the Spotter's Guide. But now I'm on "my own". I just got my chisel, made a bloomery, smealted my Tin and now i'm trying to make some other itens. I got the Plans for Axe, Pickaxe, Shovel, Sword and some armors, but every time I try to make any of this(I started with pickaxe) It just doesn't make the item, even thou i'm following the rules(Last, second and third must be Hit's).

Why is that happening?

What I'm doing: I heat up the Tin bar until Very Hot(not liquid yet) put it on the anvil, put the hamer on the anvil, the plans and I start to find the spot and follow the rule given, but even with all the rules in green and the spot on the center I just doesn't work.

I believe you have to put the bar in after the plans to get the correct instructions. It sounds like you're doing it the other way around.

I tried that but the rules don't even show.

Here are the pics.

EDIT: Nevermind I got my mistake. I was using unshaped tin, not a bar! No wonder it wont work :)

Thanks anyway.

Btw, how do I weld two bars into a 2x bar?

You need flux to put in the bottom right, which you can get from crafting a metal hammer with certain kinds of cobblestone or a stone hammer with Borax.

Then you take two bars of the same metals heated up to slightly before melting and put them in the two slots in the middle.

Then you click weld.

Also, you need to shape the unshaped metal into a (shaped) ingot, before you can turn it into a tool, or weld.

Take out the plan and do the same thing, and the ingot will be created, after which you put in the plan and 'refresh' (take out and put back in) the ingot to make the tool.
