      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

      There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
      If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
      I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

[Solved] TFC server says outdated client please use 1.8.3

Im using a 3rd party server host and when i try to connect to my server it says outdated client...blah blah blah... I know that playing SP i need to use 1.7.10, but the server wants me to use 1.8.3. how do i do that swithc? delete the config files etc...?ive tried asking at the server host but they want to charge me an extra $5/month for that and thats just a rip off

You're using a vanilla server that is running vanilla Minecraft 1.8.3. If they're charging $5 for support, it's probably a server that won't be able to run TFC without lagging horribly anyways.

You have to downgrade your server. Depending on who you are using as a host, they may not even let you use it to run a 1.7.10 forge server.

OK i think I upload the files so ill see what i can do. I know there are people that play TFC on the server host (GGservers if you know if them) Ill see what i can do

Remember that you have to install both forge and TFC on the server too.

 

Edit: Looking at their website, you're going to need at least the coal plan if not higher in order to use that server to play TFC without it lagging.
