      Server Move   09/13/18

I (Dries007) have recently taken over as main developer and server admin. This involved moving servers to reduce cost. It's likely there will be some more downtime in the future but most  things should be sorted by now. This forum is in dire need of replacement as the software is quite old and can't be easily updated. If you wish to discuss or stay updated, join our discord: The forum will remain available to read, but will be locked in the future, when a new system is setup. The forum and wiki are now ad free. If you'd like to contribute to keeping it that way, you can do so via paypal or patreon.

Alcohol and thirst

1 post in this topic

Hello! Sorry for bad english, not a native speaker.

I am currently working on a Dwarf Fortress themed modpack, featuring TFC as a core mod.
But in the process, I have encountered a problem. In Dwarf Fortress game, dwarves drink water only if there is no alcohol available. And if they have to drink water instead of alcohol, after some time they will get severe speed penalties.
Now I'm trying to replicate that kind of behaviour in TFC.

In TFC low thirst values already make you move slower.
So, the goal is: make water replenish thirst bar only up to 33%, and make alcohol replenish it up to 100%. Also, the number of thirst replenishment of alcohol should be changed as well, up to 25% per bottle (in standart TFC alcohol quenches thirst, but in a tiny ammounts and alcohol poisoning kill's you very fast).
How can I achive that goal?

Any advice and suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
