      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Return of Auto-Drinking Milk

11 posts in this topic

Hello TerraFirmaCrafters!

Playing on a server is extrememly fun, but it also lead to another bug in the game. Milk, seconds after obtaining from a faithful the cow, is auto-consumed and only kept in the inventory for about half the time, making cheese crafting incredibly tedious. Is anyone else having these problems, or is it just a server issue? Thanks

Make sure that you scroll off of the bucket immediately after milking the cow, so that it isn't in your hand. Making sure that your player has a completely full hunger and thirst bar will also prevent you from accidentally drinking the milk.

Thank you. I saw that there was a bug fix a while back (after build 78 was released) that mentions a similar event. Is this the same issue?

I get a similar thing with grain after feeding animals, I often get an extra crunch and a bite of grain is taken. With milk I use the "quickly scroll off the bucket" trick. But it is annoying when I forget!

And to milk and feed animals (early on) you need to be sneaking....ouch.

You don't need to sneak to feed an animal if it's familiarized. So shift-milking shoudln't be a problem

Re-read...Early on... Which is when it'll be scarce and loosing stuff hurts. Later on when you've got familiarity you'll probably have plenty of goodies in the production line and you won't care so much if you loose some precious milk.

Except that you can't milk a cow unless it's familiar...

Nope. Cows don't care if you're sneaking or you're standing. And you can only milk it if it's familiar.
