      Server Move   09/13/18

I (Dries007) have recently taken over as main developer and server admin. This involved moving servers to reduce cost. It's likely there will be some more downtime in the future but most  things should be sorted by now. This forum is in dire need of replacement as the software is quite old and can't be easily updated. If you wish to discuss or stay updated, join our discord: https://invite.gg/terrafirmacraft. The forum will remain available to read, but will be locked in the future, when a new system is setup. The forum and wiki are now ad free. If you'd like to contribute to keeping it that way, you can do so via paypal or patreon.

  1. Looking for hardcore seed

The same thing can be achieved in reverse then, but instead of traveling the same distance south, travel 50%, gather crops, then come back. Hell travel as far as you'd like. I love traveling. You cannot "tp" without "cheats" enabled, or a very cheaty mod such as single player commands. They're called "cheats" for a reason. Although you're "cheating" to make things more difficult on yourself? lol?! Oh man.
  2. Looking for hardcore seed

I personally find that to be cheating, although you may have a different point of view. Most seeds generally seem to be in cold enough climates for my taste. The average seems to be about -10,000 which gets a lot of snow at night during the winter. If you want something colder than that, I would suggest starting off, and then migrating north, collecting as many small ores and nuggets as you can while traveling. There should be crops you can harvest for food as you go. At night time you can dig yourself into the ground 3 deep, and then dig around, the grass blocks should not fall. If this seems like an exploit to you, then by all means create enough thatch to create temporary huts.I would make use of this time by making as many vessels as possible for increased resource collection, so be sure to collect clay. It shouldn't be long until you get enough ore for a saw. Make yourself a boat, and when you hit the ocean, travel as far north as possible, until you hit land. If you can travel around that land mass then do so, because boat travel is faster and safer than land travel. You may not be able to if the water is frozen. If that's the case, then travel on foot, and collect more ore and resources as you continue to migrate. It will take a while, but within 30-60 minutes you will legitly find yourself in a suitable climate to your needs. If freezing cold is what you really want. I find this much more rewarding to my senses than using commands which doesn't seem to suit the nature of this mod.
  3. [0.79.?] Metal tools - priority and materials

Sometimes a chunk will give me a ton of copper nuggets, and other times I can gold pan for 3 chunks in a row and get none. I would like to know if all chunks are created equal or not. To the op, I generally make a saw first these days, although I typically aim to make at least 3 tools by/during the first night. This way I can work on my home during the day, and mine at night.
  4. [0.79.?] Metal tools - priority and materials

20 minutes to hours to find a copper vein? You're one extremely unlucky dude.
  5. TFC is missing a goal

I would really love to see some entity based progression. Dungeons and areas with higher tier'd mobs that require higher tiered armor/weapons to progress. Perhaps new mobs that spawn at lower layers that do not spawn at higher layers/the surface. Find some way of making this a reality. An actual means of testing out that armor we worked so hard to acquire, but at the same time another way of progression other than getting the next metal and making the next anvil. Every good game has entity progression in my opinion. This is no exception. We should all have a way to test out our new toys, and harder monsters that cannot be killed with earlier tier equipment is definitely a needed feature of any truly enjoyable survival based experience.
  6. Alloy Calculator

Works beautifully. Thank you for this! =)
  7. Rose Gold Suggestion

Hello,I am making a suggestion for a Rose Gold Hammer. I think it would be very nice to have a pretty little Rose Gold Hammer on my Rose Gold Anvil within my Anvil collection. Bronze is the closest match currently to it, but I don't think it looks entirely right (left brain hemisphere?) lol having 2 of the same hammers on different anvils down my row. I understand this may bring up other dilemmas though, like "if we can make Rose Gold Hammers, why can't we make other Rose Gold Tools" etc.... etc..., but currently I think it's a little bit weird that we can make Rose Gold Anvils, but not put it's respective Hammer on top of it. It would be awesome if we could do this! I love having things color coated. =)-firebluefreak
  8. 2 current bugs driving me nuts.

Number 1 - Full inventory mold removal resulting in loss of ingot. It seems if I remove ingots from their molds at various temperatures, and my inventory happens to be full during one of the removals (it gets full by attempting to place the mold + the ingot with only 1 inventory slot available), the game will think that it can stack the item (which it can't because it's a different temperature) and attempt to do so, resulting in the item not being able to be placed, but removed from the mold making it forever gone, zilch, bye bye ingot. This has happened to me quite a handful of times, and it's getting frustrating. Especially on high tier metals. Likewise, when I attempted to remove cooled down molds from barrels filled with water, the game will try to stack the molds, and the mold will poof, ingot inside it gone too.Number 2 - Items vanishing when fallen onto a chisel'd surface. This has happened to me a few times. The worst time was when I couldn't reach a bloom, and had to dig my way to it by removing a block, and my bloomery. When the bloomery hit the chisel'd floor, the game didn't know where to place it, and it just vanished. Man, I've got to say. I just busted my ass off making that bloomery, gathering all the resources, cooking them, and making the 8 double bronze sheets, only for that to happen to me moments after. It was very discouraging. I looked everywhere for the bloomery. The entire area, head to toe. That sucker was gone with the wind. The good news is, through experience I can avoid these glitches. Nonetheless, I feel it is quite prompting to remove them, as I'm sure they're a simple fix, and shouldn't be in the game to begin with. Come on Bioxx, you're perfect. You cannot make mistakes. Now that I think about it, I'm sure the main issue with number 1 is shift clicking. If I were to normally click the ingot out of the mold, it would be on my cursor slot instead of being forced to find a spot with the mold.
  9. ( Fixing Later ) Smithing skill does not affect Bloom

I generally believe tasks should get harder, not easier as we progress; as we will naturally discover more challenging forms of activity. Actual personal skill increasing with experience is the true denominating factor of easier blacksmithing formation.
