      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Anime Theme (and Ending) Songs?

No coffee for you, Kimbblesrath (I don't know whether you intended to speak my name or not, considering that you may have misspelled "Sda" as "Soda" [no, the origins of my name was not based off of soda]).
  2. Stay real

/// In the sense of TFC, this dimension is magical to those who enter there, because TFC is not going beyond to the Industrial Age and the Modern Age. The time limit of TFC is around 1300, if I remember correctly.
  3. Anime Theme (and Ending) Songs?

Hm... got to look up Sword Art Online and Eternal Sonata, sometime. Also, can you guess my age (please refer to the end of Pg. 1 for the reason why I would ask such a question)?
  4. Hey! Why no to NPCs?

Then you either learnJava or do not learn Java. It's actually one of the most simple object-orientedlanguages there is, and there are countless sources on how to code a modification for Minecraft.

I like my potatoes as bakedFrench fries. It's healthier and more nutritious way of cooking fries.

Kaboom. Confirmed kill on target: "Krski". Side Note: I just noticed that your profile image is a chibi Kakashi wearing a bloodied cloak, of some sort.
  8. Anime Theme (and Ending) Songs?

The animation style of Cross Game's give off a vintage feel, if you ask me. I agree, the ears do appear to be quite hilarious. Also, while I was searching for the threads affected by the Holmesian Event, I found a particular thread created by Treyflix about guessing his age. A lot of the agesof variousmembers has been posted there, and everyone knows my gender long after that. So, I wondered... Can you guess my age (besides you, Kimbblesrath; you're the only one in the entire forum who knows my age)?
  9. Anime Theme (and Ending) Songs?

I am going to revive this thread, as I have watched more anime up to this point. Here are my favorite animeopening and ending themes: 1. Soul Eater's opening themes 1-2 and ending themes 1-4. 2. Black Butler's OP 1 and ED 1. 3. The Original FMA's OP 1, ED 1, and ED 2. 4. FMA:B's OP 1, ED 2, OP 5, and ED 4. 5. Fairy Tail's OP 1 and ED 1 (Just gotten into the series a few weeks back, and I am around episode 4-ish). And I think that is pretty much it.
  10. Hey! Why no to NPCs?

Upon seeing that last bit of text, I was rather surprised. TerraFirmaCraft is not meant to be a role-playing game, it's intentions were to be a revamp and total conversion of Minecraft's Survival Mode, makingthe modeinto more of a simulator than a "Creative Mode on Hardcore". If you wish to have NPCs in the game for the purposes of roleplaying, then it is either that you create an Add-On for that purpose, or wait for someone to actually do it. I would choose the former, if I were you.
  11. Hey! Why no to NPCs?

Unfortunately, we won't be seeing NPCs in TerraFirmaCraft. Ever. Because there is a good chance that players will be more reliant on NPCs to the point where they can just relax and let the NPCs do all of their work. Personally, I know little of the NPCs not being allowed subject, but I imagine this would be the case.
  12. Some sort of supernatural entity, I guess, that controls the skeleton? For zombies, recent studies have discovered that it is possible to create zombies from dead(?)people, but they are more of mindless workers, rather than brain-eating, decaying flesh-eaters, so they could be staying or not. For spiders, leave them be. Rename them "Giant Spiders" and have them living in certain areas of the world, and code the normal spiders we know and love as normal into TFC. For creepers, leave them be. TFC is not exactly all about the real world, and maybe they could be retweaked to be like animals, in some sort of way.
  13. Corpses, Food, and Butchering

/ To be honest, I really liked the variety of stone tools made with different stones and the bone-handle tools. It really feels like I am in the Stone Age, especially with the bone handles. While it might be a hassle to create more item ID's and sprites for each tool created with bones and different sticks and stones, I find that it really adds to the immersion of TFC. The variety in colors and attention to detail all adds to the aesthetics. Heck, if the developers made each different type of stick and stonehave varieties of stats in terms of tool usage, that would really add to the immersion, and may even prompt one to find stronger sticks for heavier stones. As for the different types of knives, knives are a versatile tool. However, what I think of different types of knives is that each of them are specialized to be better in one task than the other, in some way. For instance, a regular knife would do well against hostiles, but a combat knife is designed to cut through flesh better andfaster than regular knives, and they feel more flexible than stocky, which would be ideal for a small-arms combat weapon. Regular knives would be good for cutting flesh in butchering, but the design of butcher knives would make it ideal to cut through tough muscle and skin without severely damaging the corpse. Having different varieties of tools would not only further the modification's immersion, it would also add to the variety of tools. Having one type of tool is fine and dandy, but it would either become boring, after a while, or it would be a little impractical for a task and it would need extensive modifications. There are reasons why tools have different varieties of them. Having a variety in tools would also mean that the player will have to get these specialized tools so that they can either get an upper advantage in a fight, get better rewards from harvesting certain resources, faster digging, and essentially better efficiency. However, because of the idea of tools being specialized, I think in order to balance it out, they would have to be created with metals. I would thinkthat there would be a huge number of problems that go along with varieties of tools, but I also imagine there might be work-around's to most of these problems. The only things that I cannot see being avoided are the creation of sprites and more item ID's, but if the varieties of tools are executed properly, then I think the idea of adding detail to tools would be worthwhile.
  14. Stay real

Sorry, I don't think there is room for magic weapons/tools for TFC. I don't know about the enchanting, but I'll have to assume it is not going to be in TFC.
  15. Stay real

Oh, that's good to know. Well I can't wait to see how this set of revisionswill work out in TFC.

  17. Stay real

So, to summarize your wall of text that many people probably won't have the patience to read (it's an unfortunate fact of modern society, as we know it), basically, you're saying that you're planning to flesh out the game in huge ways in the next two updates. You want to have the players play the game through a different number of aspects, such as being a hunter-gatherer in the tundra, a local fisher in the coast, a farmer in the prairie fields. You also want to include technologies and constructions that will help the player advance through the ages, not exactly requiring them to get those technologies. You plan to add many more aesthetics into the TFC world, such as adding morevariety inflora and fauna life andpretty-up the biomes with this variety, and allowing players to make aesthetically-impressive creations. There is also the plan of adding more specific uses to metals, and some other unlisted materials, so that they are important in their own right other than being a generic metal for tool making. Is that right?

So... uh... who should start the massive derail of the many threads of the Off-Topic forum (assuming we actually do it, in the first place)?

(Obvious Joke is Obvious) That ain't true! I got da' best thinkin' mind in all of the West! Now, let's get down and dirty! Uh............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... Damn you! You win, you young tallywacka'! Next time, I'mma gonna beat down on yer' ass with a barrage of a thousand words, or my name ain't Dumbo the Wise! *Grumbles curses as he stomps out of the saloon, shooting another guy as he steps out.
  20. Name Me!

Before all of us eventually disappear from the Grim Times, let's see if we can have one last fun andrampaging derail inmuch of theOff-Topic Forum.

*Blows up the playing board again with a plasma bomb. Especially if they don't diffuse the bomb in time.

Nope. You'll be ultimately destroyed in this topic, then win, then destroyed, and so on and so forth. For those who didn't understand why the sniper killed the Spooder instead of the assault: You think that 33% is bad odds? You must be new to XCOM, then...
  23. Last comment wins

Hm... Let's see, there's my Col. Assault, who istwo feet away from that Spooder, with 90 Aimand a96% chance of hitting with 100% critical hit, and there's mySquaddie Sniper, who isfortyfeet away fromsaid Spooder, with 50 Aim and a 33% chance of hitting with 42% critical hit. *Uses Assault. Misses. Twice (she has Double-Shot [i forget the name, I think]). *Uses Sniper. Hits, with 7 critical hit damage, killing Spooder.
  24. Name Me!

I find derailing the entire Off-Topic forum to be more ironic than oxymoronic, actually. Though, I suppose irony is for more humorous intentions. Regardless, the Off-Topic forum is where anything that is not related to TFC is confined here, and there are threads here that focus on announcements from new members, some discussion topics unfitting for TFC, and the like.
  25. Name Me!

I counted the total number of threads in the entireOff-Topic subforum. There are exactly 97 threads, and if we were to derail all of them, the total derail mayhem would be around 20x worse than the Holmesian Event. EDIT: So basically, it is the Holmesian Event with a lot more kindle to fuel the derail fire.
