You do not need to be in the area. Crop growth and other events go by the amount of ticks that have passed. Say it takes 10,000 ticks to do something. If you leave the area for 20,000 ticks and come back, it will revert to it's finished state when the chunk is loaded again. This is why you never want to use TMI or NEI or server commands to change the server time. Those options generally set the server ticks back instead of progressing forward a certain amount. I think there is a time add command but I am not sure what it is exactly.

I think it is 20hp per level, so it would take 100 levels to reach 3000 total hp.

Did you keep supplying it with charcoal?

Our pregnant cows only actually give birth once every 2 or 3 pregnancies. Something is still wrong with animal births. Our pen is huge, there is plenty of room and grass for the cows but still rarely get babies.

in other words if you punch a zombie then good luck. you have just told all of them where you are and what you called their mother.  worse yet is that they will keep coming because you cant kill them faster then they can spawn.

Do you have bowls in your inventory when right clicking the surface with the knife?

 Make a metal hoe and change the mode with M and it will tell you when the crops are ready.

The devs want some mystery to the game so you won't find everything on the wiki.

As for crops, I don't think it is a set time limit for growth. I think it has to do with water level, nutrient level and temperature.

Clay spawns much more frequently now than before. Look for the Goldenrod flowers as stated above. They are different from the normal vanilla yellow flower. The Goldenrod only spawn on clay and you should see them all over the place. Clay is not always near water and is quite often totally covered by grass which is why the addition of Goldenrod as an indicator. If you are only looking for the clay texture to show itself on the surface, you will be looking for a long time.

Hard to tell but from here it doesn't look like your sluice is far enough away from the water source block. Try moving it one or two blocks more. The water should flow 7 blocks from the source and your sluice goes on the 8th block and one down.

Spawn protection forms in a 3x3 chunk square centered on the player, so 17 blocks away if you stand on the edge of the center chunk. Mobs don't start spawning until 22 blocks away.It could be overcome. That's obviously not how you are supposed to play the game but you'd get bronze and copper gear, potatoes, wrought iron ingots etc.

Light a fire pit and logs next to the portal and the fire will spread.

You may have spawned on bedrock because of the height level of your portal. If you build your portal below 128 it may take you inside the actual nether. The nether still only has a build height of 128 and the height conversion for portals is 1:1.

From my understanding, sulfur only spawns near the lava pools that spawn underground at various levels, not near the lava layer at the bottom of the world. They are like the underground water pools, only filled with lava and less common. Because of this, it is really hard to find enough sulfur to make blast mining worthwhile.

If spawn protection wasn't a thing, you could make a decent mob spawn room and kill all the creepers for gun powder but that won't really work anymore. You have to go out exploring to find them now.

I think you just dig one staircase down until you hit layer 60 in the stone type you want then you branch mine with your branches 25m apart. No sense in digging more staircases when you don't know where in the rock layer you will find something.

The only problem with the "useless 2k long tunnel" is that you don't know it is useless. At what point do you stop digging the tunnel and try another staircase, and how far away? I am not sure if the sluices will return minerals as well as ores but if so, that would be a viable option to the tunnel. You could use the sluice underground every 400 blocks or so. If this is not a current option, it needs to be.

You said you found 1,000 blocks of graphite in 1,000,000,000 blocks. Why would you need 1,000 pieces of graphite? You need 20 per crucible. Even if you got crazy and made 5 crucibles, that is only 100 graphite you need. So you can reduce your dig time to 1.95 days. That is still a lot, but it is doable. I have found 6 graphite veins through other methods and they were all at level 60. Not sure if that is coincidence or if that is how Bioxx made it more rare than before.

Prospectors pick is 12 in each direction, so 25x25x25.

Sluice is 100 in each direction, so 200x200x60.

I'm not sure about the surface rock detection range.

Cows have really tight spawn parameters and it is being fixed.

What about boats. When you have to travel across the ocean for goods, you should have a boat that can handle a full chest load like the handcarts. If you have a server with multiple settlements, you could use this to go from port to port making trades etc.

Instead of changing the time, you would be better off giving yourself a bed and sleeping through the night. This would allow the game time to progress normally and everything that runs off of that time would act properly.

Yes it says that on the Wiki. On the Ores & Minerals page, you will see the Cassiterite ores have an * beside them on all except Granite. The ones with the * are marked below as "Only in middle and lower layers."

Cassiterite will only spawn on the surface in Granite. If you don't have a granite top layer you need to dig down to the next layer of rock and see if it is one of the other rock types that will spawn cassiterite.
