      ATTENTION Forum Database Breach   03/04/2019

There has been a breach of our database. Please make sure you change your password (use a password manager, like Lastpass).
If you used this password anywhere else, change that too! The passwords themselves are stored hashed, but may old accounts still had old, insecure (by today's standards) hashes from back when they where created. This means they can be "cracked" more easily. Other leaked information includes: email, IP, account name.
I'm trying my best to find out more and keep everyone up to date. Discord (http://invite.gg/TerraFirmaCraft) is the best option for up to date news and questions. I'm sorry for this, but the damage has been done. All I can do is try to make sure it doesn't happen again.

  1. Hot Springs - accelerate healing?

    I subscribe to this idea
  2. Question about food preservation and beyond

Exactly, drying fruit is as old as the stone age. What gives?
  3. What's your favorite method for storing food?

Please don't nerf mountains in the process...
  4. Exactly. Maybe I was too extreme with 1 mc day, but the food decay protection definitely needs to be set lower. How about 8 days, the equivalent of 1 TFC month. InsaneJ?
  5. Regarding food decay protection, I think it should trigger after only a single minecraft day. Otherwise you have to spend you time looking for food every single time you login because it will all be gone by the time you come back. I logged back after only 4 rl hours and all the cooked meat in my inventory was gone. I doubt this makes the game better in any way... anyway, just my two cents... I am curious if I am the only one that thinks this is inappropriate.
  6. Looks like build 78.6 is already out, with slight alterations to worldgen caves and ravines. Maybe we should wait for a while until all worldgen bugs are solved and reset the map again. There are at least three worldgen bugs left: Name:NPE in Mountain Generation (Severe) Description:Game will lag in mountainous areas before eventually crashing. Crash report contains: java.lang.NullPointerException at TFC.WorldGen.TFCChunkProviderGenerate.replaceBlocksForBiomeHigh(TFCChunkProviderGenerate.java:527) Name:Chunk Generation Errors (Annoying) Description:Sometimes chunks screw up when generating, creating random sunken spots or square pools of water. Name:Floating Water World Gen (Annoying) Description:Caves and Ravines generate after water pools and rivers, causing ugly floating water sources.
  7. Bowls

I get that you want to have multiple bowl types in the future but making wooden bowls consumable items is terribly contrived. I suggest all types of bowl remain permanent and make them all place-able items (possibly in a stack of 4 or so). This way we can decorate our kitchens with the bowls that we want to use. I truly think that not every single ingame item needs to have a tiered progression, and bowls are a fine example. If we are able to place them they will have a big enough part in TFC without resorting to weird design choices. P.S. Glass bowls and other place-able cookware...just saying...
  8. From my point of view, as long as MyTown works as intended, (Like giving Town members only Loot access in the whole town and Assign them private plots for building), I am ok with the lack of complex functionality.
  9. [Solved] Severe Memory Leak in build 78.0 & 78.1

I've tested several times and I got the following behavior: Test setup: TFC 78.1, enter a world in single player, pause the game, leave it in background, open top (I have a mac) and watch mem usage by java process. Result: rapid climb to 3.3G (in approx 30 seconds), while holding a cpu core at 50-60%; after it hit 3.3G it started rising steadily with 1-2M per second, without ever stopping, under a 30% cpu load. I repeated the test 10 times and the result was the same. I never did anything ingame, just paused and send the window to background. Footnote: ingame the F3 display shows ram always being released properly and never climbs above 512M. I have a profile setting of-Xmx2G but this does not seem to influence what I see in the statistics.
  10. Me too, but it would be an acceptable compromise if you could teleport to your own town.
  11. Since we are restarting the world I thought that this would be the perfect time for a suggestion. I know this might sound a bit harsh, but bear with me. I think that the player experience will improve significantly if you can only fast travel to you own town as an ordinary player. This way, there will be a lot more meaning in building transport infrastructure (roads, canals etc) and establishing cities in places that you can reach. People that want to be left alone will be just as happy. An expedition to a faraway land will actually require planning and resource management and be an integral part of gameplay, not just a /t spawn command. I seriously think that Terrafirmacraft works a lot better with this kind of setting. Please discuss.
